Historic House v. NCAA Settlement gets Final Approval

He just talking - 😂- the cycle works like this - spend 4 years in Mississippi, Alabama or Louisiana and move to Texas to become a taxpayer for those states for 50 years and then watch your kid refuse to come back to the home state to get an education 😂 so to counter that those states gotta waive out of state tuition and lose revenue

you know, that sounds about right lol

can he actually do that?

If you want a competitive athletic department... no

The saying goes "athletics is the front door to your university" not the band

That's the reason why Hakim is at JSU now. And that's why Wade got fired. He refused to give up scholarships from graduating seniors to the band

Stuff will soon start coming out from Valley that will have everyone seeing why athletics can't seem to get right. And it will point back to that dufus Briggs (and by extension his MAGA/bussy buddy Bonds)

A whole lot better

That's alot of kids - one of the receivers in Houston mom went to southern and played sports there - all she went to was black schools growing up and she did well enough to live in a decent suburb so our system works and we know it works when you keep talent at home

but the kid hasnt sniffed a hbcu in the recruiting process despite other hbcu coaches on the staff

Sadly is cause we already know there's no NIL system to convince them before we even get to other stuff but what makes it worse is that it's controlled by people that damn well don't have our interests at heart but all we see is money

That same kid who got NIL from the hood and makes it big WILL NOT send the money back to where he came from to improve other's situation and help generate community wealth

They latch on to others and spend money in their community

viscous cycle

man you gotta be kidding me, give up football scholarships for the BAND? what kinda mess is this

Jerryl Briggs/Bonds/MAGA 💩

Now you kind of got an idea of how the band grew so fast. The doofus also ran off the admissions director who grew enrollment by 17% in 2023 (only 35 students in 2024). Bonds has basically been the admissions director for a year until very recently

Hakim got tired of being micromanaged for money HE RAISED for athletics so he went back to JSU. He quickly replaced him with a stooge AD (his frat Ivory) who he could control. The only reason why he didn't fire Buckley like he did Wade is because it would be too obvious (and Buckley has a bigger name/platform)

Just be patient when everything drops at once about the mess that Briggs has allowed to go on

How will this affect the SWAC?

maybe track a little if any but we're not stuffing rosters anyway and we sure don't have swimming and rowing lol

I hate these bigger schools are laying people off to do this

Seeing the athletics changes in a larger school from a faculty perspective makes me nervous for HBCUs. We already had issues competing, but seeing the moves these folks are making... Football, baseball, track and basketball might end up being black holes financially for us

The cost for additional scholarships will place a financial burden on most FCS HBCU teams.
