I'm not talking style, I'm talking physically. His punches were slower with even less pop (and of course, he never was a big puncher), and his movement was nonexistent. His ability to pull the trigger when openings presented themselves was also diminished. Even defensively, there were punches he got hit with (granted Conor had no power) that he dodges as a younger man.
You could see the speed when he started letting go his right hand leads. I promise you, Mayweather's speed looks manageable when he decideds to come forward and please the crowd. He did the same crap against Cotto and a few rounds vs De La Hoya. When he does this, he usually gets touched more. If he would have fought like the defensive/counter great that he is, we would have seen the speed difference by far.
As Bluedog stated, he did say he would come forward and make a fight out of it before hand. I just didn't want to believe it. I am one of those boxing fans and former boxer who loves the sweet science.
