1982 SU's "Haven't Done Nothin'" by Stevie Wonder
(may have been 1981, I heard it in the hot box during practice my HS band director had brought me to after school)

Oooooohhhh Wee!!! Those negros were blowing the heck out of that song. Those big fat tuba where blowing, steppin' funky like from side to side. I've never seen such big guys moving sooo much. SMH...
The F-Horn blew the heck out of the melody. The trumpet played the trumpet licks from the song. The B-tones where rollin' on a guitar lick, keeping the groove of the song rollin'. I don't remember the part the saxs had, but they were very clearly heard with the rest of the band. T-Bones were keeping the song in the pocket on the keyboard parts. That was one jammin' funky song and every section was carrying its on weight making sure all of Stevie's parts were heard. I tried to get Doc and Roy to pull that out between '84 and '87, but I wasn't successful.... DARN!!!
