That's childish, post some information as to why this particular bill will benefit you or some real hard evidence in this bill why YOU support it.. because Obama, don't know most of what's in the bill.. I am fortunate enough to have a congressman Joseph Gau who IS actually taking the time to read this bill...

The Great Depression started before the tax rate was hiked. The tax hike was a result of the GD, not a cause of it.

Taxes on the highest brackets (multimillion$$) did not come back down below 70% until Reagan started cutting them with his Reaganomics. That's back when the economy got extra crazy and folks were buying houses with 20%+ interest rates.

Also, that rate is not on ALL of millionaires' incomes, it was on the highest piece of it. I can't remember the portion of their income that was taxed at that rate.

I never said tax hikes caused the GD...

All I was implying is that HISTORY is repeating itself... Repub President started off the GD, Dem President gets in office and creates HIGH tax hikes because the people are willing to do anything because they believe it's a crisis. The American people didn't want those tax hikes... The same thing is being done now but with a more modest approach... The friendly commercials of "companys" (Of course have ties with federal reserve) asking to buy OUR GOLD... With a WEAKENING dollar, but they will gladly take our gold off of our hands, because people are strapped for cash.... Bills and reform hiking TAX rates...
