I'm not for it the way it is being persued... The cost of it tells me no...

But what I am asking is, is it just me or does is seem like Obama is pushing this for another agenda we are not being told...


Im listening to his speeches and none of them sound heart felt at all.. His main punch line is..."The emergency rooms are beiong crowded"... Which cost the tax payers.. BUT this reform will COST a HELLAVU lot more than that, and there is no sure thing that these poor folk will stop using the ER as health care..

What I find funny is, he is doing this so EVERYONE can have health care... but the truth is POOR folk who don't work WILL not purchase NO FORM of health care and continue to go to ER for treatment.. But yet those people who work, who don't care to carry health insurance will be penalized...

To ME, this bill is nothing more than to strip MORE money from working citizens to make up the cost of the small percentage of folks who are running to ER for care..

Is there anyone on here that isn't happy with the current health care situation? Or feel SOMETHING HAS to be done about health care at this COST?

Again...it's nothing new, it's done all the time and I don't think I have to tell you why all of a sudden the practice is getting attention now.

You are right Blue. Believe me I understand that. I just want Obama to avoid falling into the potential traps. You know, society will require him to run faster, jump higher, etc... Not that it is right but I just want him to get a full eight years to try and unravel some of this mess.
 
Will you be in agreement when an extra 2 to 3 hundred come out of your hard earn pay check for something that's really not needed this badly?!?!

Obama says this economy will get worse.. we already on record for the worse economy since the great depression....

With that said, How in the heck is creating MORE taxes to devastate the economy even more a sound decision...

I refuse to believe Obama and his cabinet is doing this with out know the ramifications.

I am asking you this as a citizen that want us all to get out of the economic funk and not take any more unnecessary blows..

I'm so pissed at these weak arse Democrats right now. Who gives a damn about a deficit. Ever since Reagan bankrupt the US treasury we have had millions/trillions dollar deficits. How in the hell did we pay for three wars (2 in Iraq/1 in Afghanistan)? We kick out billions to other countries without folks saying a damn word. But when it comes time to give something to Americans, these fools want to talk about increase spending and the national debt. Bump a national debt. During the Bush years, billions of dollars have completely disappeared in Iraq and is still unaccounted for. Nobody has said a damn thing. But let somebody say lets give that same money to the American people and mofos would've been ready to riot. Damn these bluedog/conservative Democrats.
 
Obama will pass something and get credit. He laid out his parameters over the weekend and no one knows what the final bill will look like. The repubs are trying to make Obama the issue. He clearly rebuked Steele and the Sen from SC and made them look silly. Obama will continue to shape the debate, and he knows this is the only year he has a chance to reform the health care industry. Mostly everyone recognizes something has to be done, except a few mis-guided repubs.

The blue dogs have leverage and can influence the final bill. The blue dogs mostly come from Red distrists. It will be interesting to see if they stay in the pocket of the insurance companies or do what is desired by the majority of the country.

The other dominant debate will be about who pays for it and whether we should add another entitlement.

We've wasted trillions already in health care over the past 4 years alone, and even more dating back over the past 10 years and we have NOTHING to show for it! As a matter of fact, I would even venture to say that we are far worse off now than we were 10 years ago due to inflating costs associated with health care!

There was no solution implemented then mainly because insurance companies and hospitals were literally raking in billions and lobbyists were put in place to make sure the system remained that way!

At some point, you inevitably will have to "spend money in order to make money or in this case...save money!" You probably don't get that though! :shame: It's all about making sound and wise investments that will pay off in the long run rather than these short immediate results that Americans always expect!

I delete dumb emails like that from both parties... It's time us MEN and WOMEN stop listening to these PARTIES ( They will tell you what they WANT you to know for their interest)....

Start looking at these policies, understand them and based them off of YOUR situation...

I ain't never hear no one on this board before complaining about health care, but now since a politician brings it up, we think something should be done?

I did and the answer I came to was... CONTROL, and STRIPPING MORE MONEY from the AMERICAN CITIZENS and WEAKEN the DOLLAR....

During the GREAT DEPRESSION what happened?!?! SMALL businesses were brought to their KNEES.. the Wealthy were taxed 90% of their earnings...

Im not saying REFORM shouldn't be done... But a GOVERNEMENT option should not be one and we shouldn't be lied to to think we NEED a government option to create competitiomn...

BUT reform should be done! I acknowledge that... Reform should be done in the form of where insurance companies reduce their cost for these medical plans across the board and be mandated by the federal government and enforce strict penalties.. We already have a FEDERAL care.. Medicare/Medicaide.... Work on fixing that!

The economic state that we are in right now, we should not be doing nothing RIGHT now to make it worse...

We are not being represented any more... We are being TOLD what we need to do and in many cases being FORCED into it..... We have Millions of educated people in this country.... The government need to start asking OUR OPINION again....

POLITICIANS are not specialized in the issues they are forcing on us... But they are specialized in POLITICS... Which means they are great at PASSING POLICIES!!!! These so called advisors are proven wrong by scientist all the dayum TIME!!!

Al Gore don't even have a degree in science and this country sat back and believe this dude when he said we were facing global warming....

We done spent the time and effort to gain a college degree, let's start using it for the better of this country!

Where are you getting your numbers from the tax rate was never 90%, this sounds like a talking point to me. Weaken the dolllar another Republican talking point. Just because some of us have pretty good medical care doesn't make it apply to everyone else, I see 1st hand people who work and can't afford coverage.

I have no issue with providing healthcare to everyone in America, especially kids. Our healthcare system in America is fugged up...and it definitely needs to be reformed, just watched a special on CNN last night about this very topic.

However, I do have an issue with $500+ coming out of each of my paycheck and I'm never seeing any return on that money. I don't care who the President is or what color he is...I want my money back!

What "stimulus packages" are you suppose to qualify for that is based on your income and who are they planning to tax. You must be in that upper tier tax bracket $300,000 plus.

Naw.

"Stimulus Packages" dealing with all these deals to help folks out with mortgage issues or ARMS, etc. In order to qualify you have to already be losing your home/in foreclosure or have lost your job, etc.

You can't be doing what you are supposed to do...ie, work, make payments on time, and just got a bad mortgage/want to refinance and take advantage of these "deals".

I'm not sure I understand you here! You admit that reform should be done, but on the other hand, you say that a Government option should NOT be one! :confused: The only way to "truly" create a just and fair plan for citizens in my opinion is to force the private sectors hand. And to do that, the Government must intervene. It was done in France, Great Britain, Venezuela, Spain, and even Cuba. Why is it so hard to implement it here! :confused:

Okay...this I agree with. But even in this predicament, the government is playing a bigger role than traditionally designed. How are you going to force insurance companies to reduce their cost WITHOUT having an alternative plan, strategy, or insurance option in place to citizens can obtain? See, this is where the problem lies..the insurance companies have NO COMPETITION so that can charge whatever the hell they want with out consequences. In order for your theory to work above, you MUST have an alternative plan to put the pressure on the private sector and insurance companies! :nod:

And medicade is a disaster walking. That's money put in the system that could easily be rerouted to help pay for the overall health care plan! :nod:

Understandably so, but we don't know if this health care solution will indeed make the economy worse. We can predict all we want, but the bottom line is many economists and politicians have no idea how this will play out. However, we do know that the time has come to make a change in heathcare. With our capitalistic society, we were bound to end up in this proverbial ditch of economic despair. The only way out is to revamp the entire system!

And he's probably pushing this because if we don't do it know, our society is going to make excuses about doing it later down the road! :nod: It's eerily similar to one called fiscal complacency! :shame:

I think you are confusing the government with some of these special interest groups and lobbyists who have been running Congress and our government for years! :nod: They control the agenda and ultimately the lesser of two evils that our society is "forced" to accept! Um..what does having a college degree have to do with anything. :confused: Bill Gates doesn't have one and he is definitely running the entire software and technological advancement of computers in today's society. Talk about power....

As much as I've heard the arguments against global warming, we must realize that scripture tells us that this current world will end by fire. There's no doubting that we are definitely seeing a change in our atmosphere and global temperatures. You can say that it's part of the Earth's cycle, but you can also say that man has played a key role in initiating this change as well. Science teaches us that for every action there is an opposite and equal reaction, and EVERYTHING in nature has CAUSE and EFFECT! So I ask you, what is the effect of what man has done to nature? :confused:
 
On the issue of the economy getting weaker because of the current state of this reform bill.. It WILL weaken the economy more... They are telling us how much this reform will cost, and we all know due to history being that our POLITICIANS aren't economic geniuses BOTH parties.... The cost they predict is always 100 to 200 percent TOO LOW!!!...

Even if they are dead on with the numbers, this mean MORE taxes out of our pay checks which means you and I will SPEND LESS into our economy. You don't think that will make the economy weaker?

Republican Herbert Clark Hoover served during the great depression and so did Franklin D. Roosevelt Dem.

No, I would rather work for a company that provides healthcare for me and keep most of my money that comes in my check...in my pocket.

why isn't that an option?

Which is basically what Im' getting from SUtrp's post; the only two options shouldn't be Rep vs. Dem, when in reality neither party really does for the working class.

As far as your other comments...basically you have no opinion about the actual topic. Your whole point is don't question/mess with Obama b/c he didn't start this mess. You would give your whole check if Obama says it huh?!?!
