If you look back in history, most HBCU's are connected one way or another.

The show could be dedicated to Ralph Waldo Emerson Jones. He was a Southernite and Grambling's 2nd President who served as president for almost 50 years. He transformed Grambling from the Louisiana Negro Normal and Industrial Institude to what it's known as today, Grambling State University. He also hired Eddie Robinson as the school's coach.

You might want to do just a little more reading before you attempt to give out advice, Clearly my sig says that I currently attend KENNESAW STATE UNIVERSITY where Im currently prepairing for 18 hours of course work while working full time,.............I see reading comprehension isn't one of your strong points...................lmao Its kinda of funny the purpose of this thread is to bring us together for one purpose yet you try not only to question my intelligence, but call me out........negro's like are the reason why we don't look out for our own like almost every other race does.:idea:
 
my last year in the band, after i pledged psi, the gsu cats came to the hotel and we kicked it a lil bit....no bad blood i agree with people saying that most of the crap is fan based and not bandsman based....i never had a problem with gsu cats because some of them have some sense.not all though. this would be a historic bayou classic if this happened.people need to put thier egos and differences aside and do something for the greater good.im not sure how they would practice this.....but i wish it could come true for new orleans, not for southern or grambling.......:smash:

This joint performance could and definitely should be done...there is plenty of time to make this a pregame type performance...

honestly...if GSU was able to perform with U of H, with preparation time of a week, there is no reason that SU and GSU cannot do it in two weeks time...

The U of H game was done pretty easily. We did the music for a few days in practice and when we got to Houston, we just rand the show once and it was done. We don't nee a big production, all we need to do is a song in concert formation, and maybe a dance.

The Classic Is Coming.
 
It is not going to happen this year, but it may happen in the next two years. I really see this happening. All we have to do as band members is to show the directors that there is respect and love between the bands. I am in the GSU band and, to be honest, we don't really hate SU. We just know that there is war in the staduim. Outside of the stadium, we can be cool. Some schools are on that hate $#it. I think that GSU and SU are two of the schools that should are above that, if any schools are.

Yeah, it definitely won't be happening this year even though I think it would be good for the N.O. as a whole.
After putting out some feelers, there were only two words......"WAR TIME"!

I agree. If you ask me, the Bayou Classic is just all-together good for N.O. As long as it happens, New Orleans will be fine.

If anything, i would like to see the whole halftime dedicated to the Katrina victims and their families. Nothing but feel good jazz music and gospel ballads. No marching, no trash talk from the announcers.

Why all the hate? I don't understand. If anything, it should be just a friendly rivalry. Some people take things personally for no reason.

U got that right. I don't EVER wanna see no sh*t like that. Can u imagine seeing white shoes kickin while white spats are driving? Can u imagine seeing beautiful swans on the field surrounded by a bunch of geese? Music will no longer be a universal language if this ever took place.
