Please don't curse me out. Just hear me out for a min. I was talking to an old classmate of mines and she wondered what it would be like if GSU and SU could do a joint half time show when the Bayou Classic returns to New Orleans? Something in rememberance and in celebration of the people of New Orleans. If we could put our egoes aside,...it would be a beautiful thing and we will still have time to go at it on the field. At first, I laughed her off but, now,....I'm really thinking about it. It's something different for these bands. Think about it. ,...Both bands on the field doing second line,...just jamming together. Both bands in a unified formation. We are the major 2 HBCU in La. We can still give the people a battle with both bands on the field at the same time.
what do yall think?
Is something like this possible?
Can it work?
Why or why not?

I think it is something that could really pay tribute to New Orleans, HBCUs, and the Bayou Classic. I think that both bands (schools) could put their egos aside to make it happen. I think it could work simply based on the "rebirth of N.O."

I am sure it could be. Maybe after the last tune from the home band. Both bands do something together. So that means each band may have to cut some of their show to have time to do something together at the end.

Not a bad idea at all. After all a tribute to the re-birth of New Orleans should be bigger than both bands ego.

by the classic being back in N.O. i don't think the network would have a problem giving you guys more time to pay a tribute...NBC knows how many people tune in just to watch halftime so a tribute would be nice...

Both bands have different sounds...but it could work! It would be a historical event. Cant wait to see it.

I think it would be tight if you guys did an intro together, then a drill and them broke off into separate bands facing their respective fans...one set of girls could dance, then the other set, then one band would do their dance routine followed by the other....ending in a unified dance.

Not if they can come together on a particular arrangement.

It would only be fair to play arrangements from both bands. Everything should be 50/50. That would eliminate all impropriety.

:jump: Well,....I spoke to the majority of the Band Staff. They Love the idea.

However,...Dr. Pannell told me they tried to do something like this last year but, it didn't pan out. We are all for it up here but, if it's going to be,..it's up to Southern.
Doc assured me that he will do what only he can to make this happen. :jump:

Well,....Miss. Elise Reed,.....look what you've started

I pray it becomes reality.
