I don't know what the ULL governing board would do, but alumni would be upset that we were overpaying a coach to such a magnitude. At that salary, I'd expect much better coaching than what I've seen from Pete.
MikeBigg spin it all that you want but the bottomline is you don't have a clue as to what you're trying to say. Do you even realize that all we're talking about is a fithy-thousand dollar raise with incentives?
Maybe it's the fact that you know that he "WILL" get those incentives and the realization it'll be at the expense of most you.
Maybe there's some things that made them feel he deserved such a pay increase...but they panicked and caved in to criticism by Joe S. from the Advocate. When dude called them out in the paper with his slanted opinion, they broke rank and caved in.
How do you know that? Did Chancelor Jackson tell you? Was it those insiders that told you Pete was gone? Or was it the insiders that have been telling you the last ten years that this is the year S.U. is going to fired him?
