Good Job Dr. Broussard


I'm taking the high road too and Broussard licks his own stamps and envelopes instead of hiring extra people to do that for him, which saves SU a lot money in payouts.

I live in Baton Rouge... he has reached out to the local business community (throughout the city and not just Black owned businesses) and they appear to impressed with his person and presentation. He's been on local talk shows (Jaguar Journal and others) and represented Southern University well in spreading his vision. Has taken a grass roots approach while simultaneously gone after "big ticket" support from local and regional businesses. He's impressive!

He is trying DMJ. He is definitely not the norm that we have had for sure. I think a lot of folks were skeptical because of his youth. But we needed new energy. I am hoping we can keep him around. He still has work to do. But folks have been impressed with how he is so reachable and takes time to respond to alumni and is out actively seeking money for our school. I also like how he just acknowledged the other SWAC ADs below in the comments section below the article. That's how much he is aware of what is going on and he is willing to work with everyone not just SU folks. He and your AD hit it off well in Jackson last Fall. I see he mentioned her in his comments too.

+1. I agree and it looks like this young man is getting the job done. It won't be long before the investments/modifications he's making filter down through all sports teams and SU starts to dominate, again, like it did in the 90s in just about every sport.

One thing I laude the Jags on (fanbase), they are rabid about their committment to excellence (winning). And now, the winning has to occur in the classroom, they're excelling there as well (righting the ship). Can't hate on that. Would love to see someone of this brother's ilk @ PV but he'd have to go in and fire 92+% of the current athletic staff and then fire the president of the university as well. :emlaugh:

Its funny that people in the SWAC feel this way...The SWAC in terms of University or Higher Ed jobs are considered stepping stone jobs so of course alot of young professionals will look that way...True Broussard may be young but that is a great thing if you can keep him and pay him...Because we all know if he does to well at SU other schools will have job opening and he will be high on their list. No smack but SU's Athletic Dept hasnt been the eye of the SWAC in a while so it will be interesting to see how his momentum carries in the next couple of years..IMO he is stil in the early stages but he is making noise and seems that you guys are behind him which is important...I laugh when people use the WINS and LOSS argument in judging an Athletic Director true its important but its all about money and putting the Athletic Dept in the best position for success ON and OFF the field...

The jury is still out concerning our AD but things have been fairly quiet around JSU Athletic Dept so no news is good news with her! LOL

If the conference had alot of progressive AD and presidents then the conference really could soar to another level...Im not talking in terms of age but the old mindset is really hurting some of our schools in the conference.

Dr. Broussard is successful because SU embraced him. Not only the alumni but his staffing. His staff is not attempting to backstab him for their lack of knowledge or rejecting his initiatives. I wish GSU could follow the blueprint.

True....And Dr. Mason doesn't put up with that type of stupidity either concerning staffing......
 
if the guy has access to the ADs, he gives them high marks as only 1 SWAC AD is on the list?

Washington at PV has won 13 championships, had to overcome the popular AD before him, was thrown into the fire coming from elsewhere on campus, got several fees passed to enhance facilities and is in the process of upgrading multiple facilities on campus...unfortunately, he won't be in the chair when they break ground next month on the first of many projects but he has done alot in five years except have a Twitter account where fans will complain :emlaugh:

That's why I think the next AD at PV will be the most important hire ever as this person can blow PV past the rest as everything is taking shape now.
 
It is some attention wh-res in here. :tup: To Broussard. Seems like he has SU on the right path and he has the fans excited again.
 



why not? Look what PV has done with little and you got to consider growth patterns, room for growth, surrounding areas, etc. Have you even been there before? I've been to Scotlandville so I can compare

The right AD with business acumen, personality, national contacts and experience with dealing with high level people can do a lot there.

But this is about Broussard and the poll so congrats as I'll be considered hating even though I met the man and like what he talks about!

I've also met him personally and can attest to his availability and acumen when it comes to ALL SU sports, even lil ole SU Women's Soccer!

IMO, SU athletics is in very good hands.

Then why is he listed?

The best ADs in the SWAC seem to be at Valley, PV and UAPB. JSUs AD has an easy job.

In the MEAC, I think A&T has a good AD and the AD at Howard is doing a good job trying to overcome some obstacles.

Just that one statement right there would've made me hire you as PV's AD if I were in a position to do so. Seriously. THAT, mes amie, takes a lot of vision, intellect, and drive.

I have a VERY strange feeling that PVAMU will attempt to hire someone who is very <b>unqualified</b> :swink: for the AD position, AGAIN. :tup: :swink: ( P88 knows.... he knows....)

Nobody's hating. These other AD's are busy working their butts off and their athletic programs are thriving along with APR numbers. You can't tell me that it's a success when your entire athletic program is virtually the doormat of an already weak conference.
Call it hating if you wanna, but I call it reality. That's life. Take the good comments with the not so good ones and move on.

In two years perhaps he can really be congratulated once there's a chance to see his entire body of work over a period of more than just a few months.

Panther, its seems that you're anti-PV no matter what. Your school's about to win the commish cup mean that each of it's sports programs is average or above. Give your own school a bit of credit every NOW and then.:emlaugh:
