About a month ago, a buddy and I go to an Oklahoma football game. So, I meet him at his crib a couple of hours before the game and the first thing he says to me is, "Why are you dressed like that?"
(I was wearing a patterned button-down shirt, jeans and white and black Jordan's with red shoe laces). My friend was donned in OU everything. Red just everywhere.
Then he says, "You dress like those folks who go to HBCU football games." (His wife is a Tenn. State grad). I'm like, it's Saturday, and this is how dress on the weekend.
Then my man offers me a OU hat to wear. I politely decline. Before we enter the gate at the game in Norman, he again asks me do I want to wear this OU hat. I decline again because I'm not an OU fan, and the hat didn't match my shirt either.
So, my question is why does it matter what folks wear to the game?
I don't think what a person wears to a game is an indication of their level of fandom or love for their school or team.
