KSmith,

I hear you Jafus, but you are definitely prejudice towards the SWAC and have often made recommendations that make most of us in the MEAC' s stomachs turn.

Again, I respectfully disagree. You must admit that their have been several individuals that agreed with my ideas and suggestions. You tend to want to suggest that your opinion often times speaks as the sounding board for the conference and its direction. With all do respect, I independently provide my opinion, viewpoint and state it as just that.

But, you're a cool customer.......we just can read between your lines.
Thank. But again, it isn't any need to read between the lines. Again, I provide my viewpoint and state it as just that. Unfortunately, I am not in position to have the sort of clout that you suggest I have. If I and once I do, I am sure that it will cause me not use the either of the posting boards as a sounding voice for my ideas and positions, as much as I do know.

I don't think the Rattlers are interested in going to a IAA conference which wouldn't

I agree that maybe their viewpoint. But, this is why I suggested that the SWAC Commissioner and SWAC Presidents come together with a plan and a proposal that might interest Florida A & M University with a mutual interest for all involved.

Remember this is how the expansion of the then 8 member SWAC expanded to 10 members. When the SWAC Presidents sought a need to expand and requested the then Commissioner to seek potential interested expansion members whom later became the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Alabama A & M University, respectfully. I sure this is similar to the expansion process of the MEAC, as well.

True dat Neck!!

I guess it's a bit harsh to call it being screwed. Jafus did point out years ago that the anger should be aimed at the NCAA not each other. The NCAA could easily move the playoffs back one week and accomadate everyone, but they would rather see us adjust our stuff. That does piss you off a little. Perhaps if the MEAC and SWAC President put pressure on the committee the playoffs could be pushed back one week.

It so sad for FAMU that the Rattlers have shut down the meacfans.com website!!! Dayum....

Some of those diehard IA Rattler Poster's are taking it hard. I really feel sorry for them this time. It's really embarrassing.

So what about the other games. They were on the road too......Unless your saying your ad signed a 1-5 home and home contract with JSU.

But, you guys have the series lead thanks to poor decision making in our athletic department. I would have never agreed to play you guys year after year on the road. SMH @ our AD!!!!

It's the ad's fault ..........yeah that's it.

btw,...........SO WHAT!!!

What does that have to do with the price of tea in China?

You said GET real. We don't go to the playoff's so you are our playoffs. 5-1.

The SWAC members are butt f### by Grambling and Southern!!!

Man ........... this changes year to year.
They b-f ya'll all the time. Just like we did. Your best school has losing records in the SWAC .... FAMU.
_________________________________________________

Then they had the nerve to throw the remaining membership a bone called.........."The SWAC Championship Game".

No-one would come see a MEAC championship game. We can do this.
_____________________________________________

There is no way a MEAC member will tolerate being pimped by Grambling and Southern every year. No matter how big the Bayou is. It's so unfair to the SWAC membership. No wonder you can't recruit outside of your States.

Now this is just STUPIED. Can't recruit outside of our state. Man we have enough talent IN state down here. Can you get people to come to your games? Get real.

Jafus I have to agree with you regarding keeping the options open. The SWAC members should approach this in a business way. Nothing is sacred...or written in stone regarding BCF. You're right!!

Go for it!!!

Folks,

Jafus has been trying to breakup the MEAC and get FAMU in the SWAC for years. He has always sought an agenda regarding FAMU. Perhaps he's a big fan of the school and it's program. I dunno ???? smh I really just think he would like to see the MEAC become a lower level Black College IAA conference. Jafus's idea of the MEAC includes schools like NCCU,SSU,VA.STATE,MOBROWN,..ETC,ETC. You get the point.

He would like to see the Florida schools in the SWAC[BCC & FAMU]

Of course this would make the SWAC the flagship Black IAA conference. That's not the case today. Although the SWAC's tradition is still ahead of the MEAC, competition wise that's not necessarily the case.

Jafus has motives............ :)

However, the bitterness between FAMU and the MEAC membership is high right now. Who knows what will happen with them. Pride may also kick in. I know they're embarrassed.

All of this is 100% true. Cosigned: WD

bluedog,

If FAMU were added to the SWAC, there would have to be a total re-alignment, not just adding FAMU and dropping whoever. The East Division is already tough, compared to the West.

Deuce I did say if they were to leave it at ten, it makes no sense to put undue travel cost on the conference and having them in west would do just that.

Now if Tnsu were to join than your scenario makes more sense.

My understanding is the white folk in Tenn. have made it clear that TsNU ain't going no-where by way of state mandate.

As for getting the rattlers, doesn't SWAC already have enough egomaniacs?

Me too.....:lmao:

Do they still have their own message board and why are ya'll debating this with a Hu alum?

When was the last time they won any kind of championship and when have they gotten a football "PROGRAM"?

bluedog,

If all SWAC teams are required to play each other (and they soon will be) then the travel issue is moot. You could put Prairie View in the East, and Alabama A&M in the West and it wouldn't matter.

I'm looking at it strictly from a balance of power perspective.

Why would you put A & M in the west aren't they further from all the western schools then ASU ?

I think it makes more sense in a cost effective manner to put UAPB in the east and ASU in the west. That way it would boost up the competiton for the western division and not effect the east as much.

Tentative Re-alignment

SWAC West

Alcorn State
Arkansas Pine Bluff
Grambling State
Prairie View A&M
Southern U.
Texas Southern

SWAC East

bluedog,

I wasn't suggesting putting A&M in the West or Prairie View in the East. That was just an example to show that having to play all schools makes the travel argument irrelevant.

bluedog's new world order

Prairie View A&M
Southern U. *

Ic, but that would be assuming after havng a 12 school conference that they would keep it like that. I tend to think that they actually would be force not to, especially if your going to have two eastern schools involved.

Why do you guys keep throwing TnSt in the mix.

Actually, in the MEAC we have our sights on TSU as the FAMU replacement. But, if FAMU stays.....all is well. If not........we were looking at trying to pry TnSt away from the OVC.

Why are you guys drawing up division with TSU. They're not in the discussion. This is about FAMU.

Stop dreaming.....kekekekekekekekekekeke

Are you kidding. We could always use 1 more.

Give me schools with BIG EGO'S and ATTITUDE that say .."I DON'T CARE HOW GOOD YOU ARE ... WE ARE BETTER!!"

These type's of clashes make SWAC blood boil on gameday. Their BIG EGO would fit right in.:emlaugh:

A lot of you Poster are so childish with the "when is the last time Howard won a championship comments". What does that have to do with appeal? We have been in more Classic than most school in the SWAC. We have two next year!! btw, the last championship was in 1996. Woop-de-Doo!!!!

Do we nullify some of our members because they're BROKE as "L"? No......hint.....it's about the size of a dime and we all have one.

Ah ....................... dude ................... AIN'T WINNING A CHAMPIONSHIP THE PURPOSE OF FIELDING A TEAM? HOW IS ASKING THIS QUESTION CHILDISH. HE!! ---- THEY ASK US. IT'S A LIGIT QUESTION IF YOU ARE GOING TO EXPRESS YOU SUPERIORTY. If you don't get the connection of WINNING and APPEAL, then I understand why year after year you have more L's than W's.

BTW: JUST HOW MANY OF THOSE CLASSIC'S DO YOU WIN. I MEAN .. AFTER ALL ... YOU ARE A PLAYOFF CALIBER TEAM.

Tnsu wanted to get in the swac long before meac was even thought of and the only reason they aren't is because they just wanted their other programs to join and their football program to stay independent.

If they were so up on joining the meac then why didn't they after it was born? I'll tell you why, because any Tnsu alum will tell you that the SWAC is the conference that is their most heated rivals.

It still amazes me how some try to think of themselves as the topself when it comes to draw and media but yet they have no tv contract that states they are the flagship conference to that network..not even regeional.

Okay....Bluedog,

That's a fair answer. You think the Tigers are interested in the SWAC over the MEAC. Well.........That was Yesterday!!! Not now.

We have heard discussions about the Tigers expressing an interest in the MEAC. Who knows the real answer. I guess we'll have to ask somebody from Nashville.

Jstate,

You are right. Everybody should be in it to win it. But, if you don'tt yet you remain competitive and energized what's wrong with that? Everybody has a right to voice their opinions, whether you're JSU or PV.

Last I heard, TnSU views a move to the SWAC/MEAC as a lateral move that it didn't want to make.

However, this was before FAMU stubbed her toe on its IA move, and the OVC commish asking TnSU to relinquish all future athletic ties to AAMU.

My guess is, there is not going to be a better time for the SWAC to approach FAMU, and TnSU than the present.

...btw, the OVC has been seeking a 12th member for a while now, the Southern Conference lost ETSU and could be looking for a replacement, anyone see these seeking the services of FAMU should she decide to return to 1-AA, but not the MEAC immediately?
