This will probably be Paul Johnson's last stand.

Dozens of People Attended Georgia Tech's Spring Football Game

Georgia Tech held its Spring game on Friday night, and it was essentially one of those “tree falls in the forest with no one around to hearâ€￾ situations. Social media speculation pegged the attendance at 117, which seems conservative — there’s at least two or three hundred people huddled up under that overhang.

To be fair Friday it was raining hard as hell basically all day and night and I wouldn't have been out there either. We had been under a flood watch like all day lol

Po TP and gSUpertiger. So small time.

MH must haven't seen this thread yet or he is taking the high road. Lol.

Tell that to the 73,000 people who showed up in Tuscaloosa this past weekend . . . and that number is lower than they've had a few years since Saban's been there . . . they've had over 90,000 just recently . . .

JSU had more than 117 bbq grills going at ours.
G. Tech can't get a image break. Everything they do in public is comical for a "big time" school.

I did hear about the STORMS in ATL on Friday.. HOWEVER our spring game is generally a big deal. Look at all of the past years.

Keep hating. We are still one of the most successful team in the nation..
...and nobody from Annie Mae is allowed to post on this thread. We could have scored 100 points on ya'll in the first half if we didn't pull our starters in the second quarter. Who does that?

..as for Johnson's last stand. I will agree that he MIGHT get two more years to get us back to the top of the ACC. That lucky break he got to get us to the championship game two years ago won't count. BUT for the first time I can honestly say that this year looks bleak. We need at least one more QB. You can't run our system with one QB. I really hate that Lee left BUT (yes another but..) the defense will be the best it has been in YEARS!

I am also confused why we do this on a FRIDAY night in ATL when traffic is already some of the worst in the nation in that part of town... but again, normally, we get a decent turnout.

Only Mother Nature could keep the Tech faithful from satisfying their sweet tooth for an early look at the vaunted triple option.

The triple option has kept our team relevant. Our defense has been our downfall most years. We brought in a new group of coaches last year with hopes of infusing some talent. The triple option with talent is deadly esp if we have a defense.

Okay...it's just practice...

Seriously...spring football is one of the most overrated spectacles in college sports...I attend the games but it's just practice at the end of the day

Let ya'll tell it, we have been poo under Johnson but under Johnson, we have been FIRST in our division THREE times, second TWO times, and we have only been third ONCE. But I still think Johnson needs 8 and 9+ win seasons to secure his job. ..and he probably needs to secure it this year.

It is practice BUT it's a chance for your fans to show support for the players and the school. At the end of the day, that's what it's all about and we should support it to the fullest!

Not a one national title, though. Only the academy schools running that archaic offense. Talent or no talent.

WOW.. so we only judging national championships now? Tech has more national championships than MOST schools. With our standards, if we can win the ACC or even get some good bowl game wins, we will be good. Johnson has beat MS State, Clemson, Florida State, etc.. WITH that archaic offense. It's so archaic that teams need more time to prepare for it. In fact, last year most teams requested to play us after a bye just to prepare for the triple option. But it's archaic? Ole Miss players were saying that they were happy to have extra time to prep for it becasue after the first week of practice, they admitted that they would not have been able to defend it.

I liked the direction of the team last year. Even though we lost some heart-breakers to UGAg and Ole Piss, the defense improved tremendously and with Vad getting a year under his belt, I was excited. But obviously he and Johnson didn't see eye to eye. Now the QB we have is probably better and MUCH faster than Vad but you must have experience in this archaic offense. If Thomas proves to be a good QB, I think we are in good shape to make it to the championship game.

Now will we beat FSU? hell naw!

I think GT needs to move to the Sun Belt or CUSA. GT needs to try and be a big fish in a little pond. :smh:  :emlaugh:
