Does Your Mate Snore?

Snoring has broken up a lot of homes. People over look it and think it's joke, but it can be a medical condition.

Lord have mercy...a [edit] can be honest, respect you, love, honor you and cherish you...but if that [edit] snores....he gots to go. Damn...I guess MOFO's hate me because I snore...I used the nose things now and it helps but it's mostly due to my sinuses constantly draining at not.

I can live with it. Depending on how tired I am I snore at times. Just about all of my ex's snored and it was ok except for one. I couldn't get a good nite's rest and he wouldn't believe he snored. I think I can deal with snoring better than sleep apnea. It's hard for me to sleep well when the person next to me stops breathing in their sleep.

Same here. Of if I'm sick with a cold (nose stopped up), I do snore. If you can't deal with it, oh well!

Everybody snores...it's a matter of when and if something is medically wrong. I usually snore when I have bad sinuses. Yet, if I drink enough water my sinuses don't drain as much and I don't snore.

Well I know as a child I snored a lot. My mom thought there was something wrong. I guess around 15 or 16 I just stopped snoring. That lasted for several years unless I'm sick, very tired, or had a lot to drink. Usually turning the person over is enough to muffle the sound or stop them from snoring. Then there are some that there is no hope for. All you can do is sleep in a seperate room or invest in earplugs.

Yes he does, but it is a soft humming-like snore. And I love to hear that, it is so comforting for some reason.

I, on the other hand snore like hell is coming! Every hog in the parish shows up at our backdoor because I can be heard all over EBR! :D

My wife does not snore, but I do! She has learned she better get to sleep before I do or else, it's a loooooong night for her.

I snore, but since I am often the last one asleep, I have noticed that I am not alone. I am just louder.

I had one that did. Notice I say...HAD! She now lives in another city and state. I suppose she's snorin' in somebody's ears up there in the middle of the night.

Stop Snoring: How to Give Yourself
the Silent Treatment

How can you stop snoring? Here's a list of possible remedies:

Change your lifestyle. By losing weight and regulating the role that tobacco, alcohol and tranquilizers play in your life, you can a take giant step toward reducing your snore score.

Don't be stuffy. Use a decongestant or nasal strips if your nose gets in the way of a peaceful night's sleep.

Back off. Sleep on your side or stomach instead of your back to keep your airway open.

Use a continuous positive air pressure mask (CPAP). CPAP masks deliver air under pressure, forcing the airway to stay open. The mask must be worn every night---or you'll begin to sound like a jackhammer again.

Put your money where your mouth is. There are 37 different kinds of oral devices that can reposition your tongue and jaw---and help eliminate snoring. Ask your doctor or dentist about them.

Conventional surgery. Called uvulopalatopharyngoplasty, or UP3, this procedure is usually reserved for people with sleep apnea. It reduces the size of the uvula, soft palate, or both.
