Do people really understand why MAGA wants to cut the federal workforce?

I am not so ruthless and rarely smile when someone loses their job if ever. (Sometimes, it is of course necessary.) I will very rarely smile even when a bad coach loses their job. However, I love a lot it when a lousy politician loses an election.

However, these voters were not listening. They should have known. Trump talked about some of what he would do. Project 2025 stated its goals clearly. One did not have to read the entire 900+ pages but only a few to see that. Many thought it would happen to the other-not to those like middle class and rich White people. This reminds me of when Black welfare mother mothers were big targets during the 1980 campaign. When Ronald Reagan starting issuing cuts that affected suburban voters, they were surprised. Yes, Reagan with the help of Lee Atwater, who directed Reagan's Southern Strategy, did not just go after Black voters. He went after everyone who was not rich.

BTW I thought it was in Cumming, Georgia which is the county seat of Forsyth County before seeing the entire video. Roswell, where this occurred, is less than 30 miles from Cumming.

Lucy McBath represents the sixth district (Newt Gingrich's old district) of Georgia, and I believe her district covered part of North Fulton County, which includes Roswell. Then reapportionment came.

Once again when you make a segment of folks the poster child for something-reality will escape folks.

From movies to books to comics to tv shows-when you paint one group as something-folks will act like it's just that group. Especially when you have some of that group embrace that image.

How many white folks brag about getting government services? How many movies and shows do it?

Even as POOR as the Bundys from Married with Children were-they had 2 cars, 2 story house and put one child through college. Meanwhile if it was a black family they are going to be shown at the welfare office.

Those folks have themselves to blame. The MOMENT Social Security and Medicad was being targeted-that should have been the END of Trump.

I am NOT giving you a chance to touch those even if I think you are joking.

Actually, I am loving what is happening to these politicians, GOP voters going after GOP politicians. I am not feeling sorry for the politicians. Many are trying to mess over everyone. Many voters have trouble seeing it.

As for the voters, I am not singing and dancing that they are losing their jobs and eventually any benefits. However, some, probably many, need to be taught a lesson. Some need to be taught a really tough lesson. (I am clarifying things I said earlier after a couple of good nights sleep. I can be more ruthless than I made it seem in an earlier post.) They were warned for decades on these policies by the GOP and need to take their medicine. I will state a couple of things my mother said more than once:

- Let this be a lesson.

- A hard head makes a soft behind.

Those words were correct when she said them. They are correct now. It is time the GOP base voters listen.

I do not know about North Fulton County, but Forsyth County, where Margorie Taylor Greene went to high school, is 80% republican. I doubt that many there are bothered by what McCormick said on school lunches.
 
They chose a stupid location to do this if they actually wanted it to be positive for them. Roswell? lol. That area is as Democrat as you can get in the metro. Those folks weren't going for that bullshit up there. I used to work right off of Roswell Rd so I know that area well. They played themselves with this one.
 
The GOP passed their budget that puts the onus of cutting Social Security, Medicaid and student loans on those departments. They gave those places permission to do it so they can deny that they did it.

To put this in perspective the last time the GOP touched Social Security in 1900s. They lost 41 seats in Congress at Midterms. Interesting that is about the same number up for grabs in 2026.

In this election for the House, District Seven, the democratic candidate got their highest percentage of the vote in Fulton County (52%), where Roswell is located, but McCormick's district contains other counties like Forsyth, Dawson, Cherokee and Lumpkin, strong GOP counties. I suspect that quite a few constituents came from Forsyth and Dawson counties to the townhall meeting.

As one person pointed out-they THOUGHT those changes would only target US.

That is NEVER EVER how it works.

Since they are the MAIN ones on those services.

As that person pointed out-we saw how white folks react to things AKA Jan 6th. Don't think those folks won't try that again.
