Debatable topics

This year the 1A state champion basketball team was a private charter school in Dallas, Texas. The school is 1A because of its enrollment of 150 students. The problem is the recruiting aspect, 8 of the players on the team will sign D1 Scholarships.

The average margin of victory was 50 points.

And what's sad is that they got booed when they won. If the UIL approved their program, it must be (mostly) legit.

Just because it is legit, doesn't make it fair. Take this years Class B Finals, Madison Prep is a charter school in Baton Rouge, and gets players from a population of 200,000 (all over the City) and they played Simsboro, a school in a town where there are 800 people IN THE WHOLE TOWN
TO Madision Preps credit, they are moving up to Class A next year. Even in a Magnet School, there is some criteria (at least there used to be) and anyone couldn't get it. But basically at a charter school, anyone can come irregardless at no cost.

Charter schools are a different cat because of how they're set up. You can set your charter up to take schools from a certain set of areas or a specific area (EBR itself).
