Can the "D" get some love? Who has the BEST DB's coming back in the pass

Look

I dont give credit where it is not due. Lenny is OK, but when face with a real offense, he got torched. JSU ran circles around Lenny and thats the fact. He didnt know what to do. He was so paranoid about Mannings 100 yards in the first half that the other guys were running right by him. ON JSUs last TD, Williams was playing zone....Kent sent Manning short and Gordon long.....Williams had deep coverage but came up to cover Manning. Gordon walked right pass him for a long TD catch.

When faced with WRs that might actually run patterns, Williams gets burned. He has never done anything against JSU. When he just has to run and cover the sideline against Gram, he is a bit more successful.

I wouldnt take him over Goudy at JSU.

And mh

Who cares what you think...your teams player were last....dead last. Your opinion doesnt count. Can I get you to go to the other thread and answer a few questions?

GR,
Don't get mad with me cause everybody done lamblasted your crazy opinion!

try being objective for a change!!!!!!

jsu has the best secondary hands down
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Lenny Williams isn't a good cover corner? And yall are basing this only on the JSU game? I mean he is a corner, that doesn't mean he can't be beat. But the guy has talent and he has skill. Plus he has the speed to stay with most WR's. If Lenny isn't the best DB in the SWAC right now, then tell me who is. And don't just keep giving me the same song and dance by naming every player on the JSU roster like you people do every year.

Just because you can name the players on your roster doesn't make them great. And if we want to talk about single games. I have seen the JSU DB's tourched by Bama St. and GSU the last 2 years. But I am supposed to fall for the okey doke that they are great? Yeah right......

But what should I expect, you are Buffalo....

All I know is that, against JSU, Lenny looked like a child lost in a mall. That's all I know.

Thats all we are saying Prodigy...the boy just aint that impressive to us.....maybe its the 400 yards he gave up to Kent....I dont know.

Suge is right. Lenny Williams is the best DB in the SWAC hands down.

But Tim Manning is the best WR..... Rober Kent is the best QB....

And when the best goes up against the best, sum'n gotta give...

and Lenny's arse gave plentifully!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Well based on that logic, of how a player performed against your sqaud.............

How do you explain your DB's against GSU. I mean you guys say all we do is throw the fade route, and I have seen so many post where you say Tramon Douglas isn't that great a WR........yet he and Bruce and the GSU offense ripped your arses apart. So by using the Mafia logic, your DB's must not be that great. I mean if you know the fade is coming and you still can't stop it, then how good are you?

This is just too easy!!!!:lmao:

I was not impressed with the JSU secondary last year. We had bodies but no experience. Couple that with a new scheme and that put us at average. This year, I look for things to change. We could not find a good combination of guys last year so we kept changing our starters for up until the end of the season. With the addition of Dancy and others, I think we will not only improved our numbers but also our quality. The JSU secondary is not fast enough to have players that are as short as ours. However, with all of that said, we should still have a top three secondary in the conference with Bell and Johnson leading the charge. A few years ago, JSU would have been an easy answer to this question.

BTW, of course Gram is going to give credit to the SU defense. They have no choice. LOL

TP, the last time J-State concerned me was l1999 a.k.a. last century where Buffalo reaped all its success.

How can a storied program like J-State (which did not hit rock bottom like Icon Gram) become so rotten? You clowns actually hoped for a Valley win with pretty good talent.

Now you stand no chance (I emphasize this not smack). If you did not get the G-MEN last year, 2003 is a foregone conclusion. Icon Gram is too loaded.

Gsup

Gram was not that good last year and you wont be that good this year. You played better c**n ball than the rest of us. You better clean it up though...there is a new sheriff in town.

Rotten? Even with Robert Hughes as coach, we didn't sink below 7-4. The reason is we have a real program. Rotten is having your program sink to such depths that only a handful of fans show up at your coaches last game. Even today, your own fans don't show and your coach complains about money every chance he gets. And you call yourself the icon?? The truth is JSU's program has a solid foundation that's only improving, while your program is built on a house of cards. Believe me, it won't take much for you to fall back to Pine Bluff's level.:bawling:

Who is the guy? J-State -- solid fondation??? LOL!! This foundation equates to quicksand. A real program wins championships. The last time J-State won a championship Waiting to Exhale was a hot soundtrack.

It speaks volumes that a program can soar from the transition years to back-to-back-to-back SWAC and BCF titles. Two of those SWAC and BCF titles came in rebuilding years (2000 and 2002); only an Icon can do this. On the other hand, the Mafia has informed the board that J-State had self-proclaimed All-World talent (during these years) -- and only a solid foundation has resulted. LOL. Seems like the word you are searching for is stagnant.

J-State's program is improving? Really -- when has futility been measuring stick for success? Your rhetoric is just like the rest of the Mafia -- based amusing hope. Post when J-State becomes a big boy again -- your improving foundation resulted into a 31-0 score with eight minutes left in the 2nd Q against Icon Gram. Icon Gram is solid like Gibraltar.

When J-State beat A&M this year in Huntsville? Oops, it does not matter that ominous October is approaching. :lmao: :lmao:

Let me get this straight: You've had to rebuild 2 out of the last 3 years? I see you know zero about football, because no team rebuilds that often. It just doesn't work that way. Only an idiotic Gram fan would try to make themselves look better by claiming they can win while in rebuilding mode. You've won while the SWAC was in rebuilding mode.

As far as us, yes we are improving on a solid foundation. Since you're from Gram(re: barely accredited), let me spell it out for you. A solid foundation is one that keeps the entire program steady. So even with an idiotic coach, we're still able to win consisitantly. A solid prgram will win games and draw fans even when the coach does absolutely nothing. A solid program is one that hasn't produced a losing season in 20 years, unlike some other programs i know.

Its no secret that your very recent success coincides with Hughes tenure as head coach. But that's over. A much better coaching staff and much better facilities combined with the SWAC's BEST TALENT equals improvement. You'll definately see this fall on the field. You've had a nice 3 year run, but that's about to be over. Now you're gonna go back to what you were before, our beyoches! :D

Surely talent alone can win games against Alabama State (three losses)... get a program that is "solid" to Gramblingham in one the weakest divisions in BCF (especially in 2000-01). Where is this talent on the All-SWAC teams? You are extremely obtuse and foolish to blame a coach about not making it to Gramblingham since 1999. You sound like ole CJ Memphis (the geechie) from A Soldier's Story content/complacent with the same old shi*. Coaches play a role, but something else was lacking too (and that is talent). Grambling fielded babies (freshmen and sophomores and dominated your self-proclaimed talent). That is the definition of talent -- winning without experience. We are about winning at Grambling, but winning is not enough. We are about championships!! You clowns are content with winning seasons w/o bringing anything home. LOL. Typical.

FYI, Grambling is fully accredited. One thing about Grambling State -- ignorance of facts is not tolerated. Obviously, a lack of talent (on the gridiron) and fundamental attributes of being intelligible are not emphasized at J-State. Also, Grambling is listed in the top 17 teams in attendance (according to the NCAA).

Your definition of talent is all screwed up. You can have all the talent, but you must have guidance. Yeah, you beat us the last three years, the first was questionable and we were simply outcoached the last two- no excuses, here. When your coaches send you onto the field unprepared and lacking a legitimate gameplan you'll lose. Bottom line.

How can we be content with winning seasons when we fired a coach who won 20+ games in three years? What happened to attention to facts? Now I question your credibility as well as your accreditation.

The top 17? I wouldn't even post that, especially if I were a tradition-rich school that won consecutive SWAC titles. Can we get you in the top 10 this year? Will you have an academic year this year?

The fact is talent without proper coaching and preparation will get you to 7-4, or worse. Talent lets you place a league high 9 players on the all SWAC team. If you believe we're content at JSU, then maybe you should find Robert Hughes, gone despite have an overall winning percentage above .600. Or maybe you should find Assberry, gone despite having the top ranked offense in D-1AA. We got rid of these clowns because we expect championships at JSU. And we replaced them with better, more experienced coaches, but you'll see that in the fall also(that's if you attend games, unlike most of your alumni).

BTW, Its interesting that you use the top 17 in attendance so your program can squeeze in. I've heard of the top 5,10 or 15, but 17? Talk about reaching.:( If you're the icon, you should ecpect nothing less than the top, right? If you're the icon, why does SU embarass you every year. That fact proves that you're mediocre at best when you face a good coach.

Which db is this? Please explain...

Dayum!

When will you jsu guys realize that we don't believe anything you people say anymore?

Are you referring to that good coach that lost to: Alcorn, AAMU JSU and had to cheat to beat Valley & Peanut Butta?... You still have time to delete this......
