I'm close friends with my EX. I think we can be friends now because we started off as friends. I will admit sometimes it can be hard, but for the most part he knows me better than anyone and I know him better than anyone. We're completely honest with each other. We just realized we were better friends than anything else.
So you never cross that line anymore?

A lot of foolishness is being posted....

If it's your EX...you obviously couldn't JUST be friends in the past...you may be now...but the fact is...yall hit it earlier which negates the curiousity.

Secondly...all these people that are saying YES.....How many of them would let their spouse or mate be BEST friends with someone from the opposite sex. Trust is one thing...but ...

You said something there....but some people are friends with the opposite sex anyway...so it does not matter. I think people get in a relaxed state and don't care about that too much. I don't know for sure.

Are we confusing friend with lover?

I don't see why people worry if your mate is friends with someone of the opposite sex. You can?t stop a grown person from creeping if that?s what they want to do. I guess I don't have insecurity issues. A woman is like a bus to me. It's one coming around the corner every 30 minutes. If that bus stops I?ll pick my tale up and get on another one until I'm happy & ride out. Eventually one of those buses gone be going in the right direction.

In my opinion, I just cant trust that im getting an unbiased opinion from a guy who is interested in me. Especially with relationship issues. And if i cant trust you then you surely can not be a true friend.

Well shoot, you can't get an honest opinion from a woman in general because you all are so moody.  :D :goodbad: :smug2: :scared:

The physical attraction is still there at times. We both just decided that we shouldn't ruin what we have now by bringing sex into it. Some days I look at him and I'm attracted to him and some days I am not. He's been in a relationship since we split, and I've dated others. When we're in the mall he'll talk about how good some woman looks and I make comments on other men. We're closer now then we were in the beginning.

Ok. I have not denied that both males and females have sexual feelings. Please believe I would never make that statement. :ebrow: But for guys who I claim as friends I am not the least bit sexually attracted to. Im saying from experience I have seen some guys claim that a women is just there friend a "sista" even but would hit it the first chance they got and that woman didnt have a sexual feeling at all towards them.

So you mean to tell me that in order for two people to have sex there first must be "sexual attraction"?

You act as if you never heard of "Pitty D or Pitty Poo"...

Guys are visual first of all so it would be harder to be just your friend even though possible. In contrast it is much easier to be just a friend to an ugly woman (don't shoot the messenger). Using that "sista" line is the oldest trick in the book. That is another way of saying to one's self that I can't get the pudding now but I am still working on it and have high hopes.

This sometimes can be dangerous.........A good way to attract a stalker.
Yes, but not my point. My point is sometimes "True" friends have sex based upon feeling sorry for the other friend and give them a shot.

Point number two. You do not have to be attracted to a person to have sex with them.

Another point, Just because I find you attactive doesn't mean I am not your true friend.

Oh, and Just because I want to hit doesn't me I am willing to throw away my friendship with you.

I know it wasn't you point..........that's why I stated "off topic."

Doc: That sounds good! :p

If you hit it with a friend once, and you don't do it anymore, can you still be friends?

Honestly, It all depends on how you happen to hit it.

For example, If you are at the house and watching TV, laughing and have a good time. Hey, you are watching 'Jade or some other show that has a sexual undertone' and you get hot and bothered. Then yes you can remain friends. You just happened to get a shot, just as long as you dont make it a habit and the be GROWN about what happened.

BUT, if you're talking about past relationship and how they never work out and you had a few drinks but not drunk and things get started, I believe you better pull back on some of the topics of discussion in your friendship.

Doc: Just in general...tryna keep the conversation going. It seems this forum does well on contreversial topics, you know?

Fort: You're killing me.
