Is saying that Bruce is 6 feet, 280, with a sidearm release a negative remark about Bruce?
Yes, in this case, lying about or overexaggerating a man's weight is negative.

Grambling Football has had a couple of "will never's" to overcome. They said that a black QB will never start in the NFL, James Harris silenced that. Theyu said that a black QB would never win a Superbowl, Doug Williams proved that not to be true. Now some black oppressors, because whites don't have to do it anymore, are saying that a talented 6 footer from the same school will never make it. History will prove itself again........... Bruce, if you should see this thread, this should make you work even harder. Good Luck BRUCE!!!!!![]()
Well he didnt use the word "never" but Hate Ready did say:Originally posted by Suge
And that is all that anybody is saying here. he doesn't fit the mold, but I don't see where anybody says that he doesn't deserve a chance, or that he "never" will be a success in the NFL.

The black QB issue is almost a dead one these days. There are good black QB's starting, but the true measure of the progress in this area is the number of black QB's who are back ups and journey men. Because that shows you that some (not all) of the pressure of being a black QB and having to be great, has been lifted.

Also to add to the list of short QBs, Ty Detmer stand 6'0 and 189lbs played pretty well for philly in 96 & 97.

I couldnt help myself. I had to check the NFC rosters out even though I should be in bed sleeping. Here is what I found, including your boy Ty Detmer who is indeed in a reserve roll in Detroit.
**** 6'1" ****
Koy Detmer (195 lbs)
Tim Hasselbach (210 lbs) This is the Hasselback in Wash.
Rex Grossman (217 lbs)
Kordell Stewart (217 lbs)
Jeff Garcia (195 lbs)
**** 6'0" ****
Ty Detmer (190 lbs) Looks like he added a pound. lol
Mike Vick (215 lbs)
Rodney Peete (230 lbs)
Shaun King (225 lbs)
Jeff Blake (223 lbs)
Tim Rattay (205)
and like the AFC there is one shorter than 6 feet:
Seneca Wallace is 5'11" 195 lbs
Again, I would like to point out that there are a couple starter/backup combos that are each 6'1" or shorter. Jeff Garcia and his backup Tim Rattay and Kordell Stewart and Rex Grossman.
From what I gathered, and I may have missed some, there are 21 QBs in the NFL that are 6'1" or shorter. Of the 21 I found, 13 of them started games this year. If that doesnt prove that the "short" tag is getting to be less important than ever then I dont know what would.
