The U.S. does not OWN the oil when it is drilled, so the companies (owners) that drill the oil will ship it wherever they can sell it. In order for it to STAY in the USA the refineries would have to purchase the oil from the USA instead of purchasing the higher-quality oil from overseas (mostly Canada).

LOL @ Beans. Better make sure aint no crown vics or blacked out Tahoes hanging out around them. LOL. The US Government aint to be fugged with. While I may not like all our policies. I have had a chance to travel the world both a military person and as a civilian. You are right Beans. We live better than anybody and our government believe it or not is less corrupt than others. Everybody complains about their government. Money and power corrupts. The US is just playing the same game everybody else does. If we did not, we would really be in trouble. And for all that think China is owning us.....I got news for you. Their economic bubble is happening to them now. They are seeing an uprising of their workers demanding more money to work. I was just there last August. It aint what folks think. They want to be America........seriously. They do not want to see the US fall. They need us and the Western world more than the pundits let on. Just do business with them and you know why.

I think it's not only anti American, but it's un-American NOT to question government officials. Just believing and accepting what they say is akin to living in Communist China.

Great Americans have always questioned the government and held them accountable for their actions.
Government is made up of men and women prone to lying just like we are. Most of the time, they're more skilled at doing it.
Only difference from us is, they have more political power and money. All the more not to believe eveerything we're told. Plus, most are lawyers. LOL!! No offense Robber.

Kendrick, you have to take time to understand how the oil refiners purchase oil, why they purchase it from certain places, and why it makes a difference. Also, understand who owns the companies that are doing the drilling. Like I said, if you want to do a THOROUGH article, you need to do more research. If you want to do an article that sounds good but isn't complete, do what you're doing now.

BB, you blowing this all out of proportion now. Who said this was the worst country in the world? Asking questions is not being anti-American. The American people are supposed to ask questions. What's that old saying, "trust, but verify?" That's a good motto to follow.
