True. But you know if Nick Saban left Alabama or Urban Meyer left Ohio State this off season and was at Texas A&M for example with their returning starters, they would have them as a favorite in the SEC West. I guess folks are that enamored with Jenkins and his past success and think he will walk in with all the talent Bama State is said to be returning and right the ship right away.
Even with B-Low, ASU competed at the top. ASU finished the last 5 seasons in 1st or 2nd place in the east. Again, solid returning players, and upgraded coaching (I think we sell coaching short here, I don't. Especially after witnessing so many boneheaded, head scratching decisions from Blow) . I really dont see why anyone would count out ASU at this point. Heck, its not like there are serious juggernauts in the SWAC anyway, so nobody can be counted out.

How you know he is going to play Duhart? He is a new coach. He has no allegiance to Duhart. I imagine if that kid don't show Jenkins something or grasp the offense then it will be another QB playing. Especially with Mark Orlando as the OC. Duhart better have his head right or Orlando will replace him quickly.
JR,
You gon scare TP.
LOL!

Dang LS. You kind of harsh on JSU. I know yall played bad. But there is talent on the team. So I expect JSU to be better this year. How much better is the question. TP wants to annoint you guys as champs though. LOL.
I know there's talent. We had talent last year. I was addressing the coaching staff. I think we have the most talented team in the SWAC, pound for pound. If our coaches can get it together, we will run away with it all.

We can count out PV, TxSo, AAMU, Valley aand UAPB,

And the SWAC ain't the MEAC. Even tho Jenkins did whoop up on ASU, he gone learn that emotion runs the SWAC. We don't short change coaching either but we don't know how good LC and JC would have been if they played by the rules.

That's what I have been saying since the end of the season last year. The talent is not the question. It's the coaching. If JSU starts off the season 1-4/0-5, I just don't see him keeping his job after the season.

Depending on how we lose those 4 or 5 games, if that happens....he might not see Game 6. I think I'd be comfortable letting Lee finish out the season as the interim HC if it came down to it.

You shole is right about that.. but THAT won't happen.

This is the SWAC. Too many unknowns that are too many variables to account for. In all honesty, I think there are 6-7 legit squads who could potentially represent the SWAC in the Celebration Bowl.

Alcorn and Southern have huge bullseyes on their back.

6-7?

5 is a stretch...

A lot of staffers are doing their due diligence to improve upon last fall, imho. I saw where quite a few were strong and actually became stronger as the season wore on. I feel confident in stating that I expect those same squads to build upon where they left off, regardless of what new coaching staff they hired w/in the last year or so. No smack.

MTSU is a given underdog game but it's a real chance that you might get your wish going into that AAMU game. Don't fire an alum during HC week like FAMU did lol

Sept. 5 at Middle Tennessee State
Sept. 12 vs. Tennessee State (Southern Heritage Classic)
Sept. 19 at Southern
Sept. 26 Texas Southern (WC Gorden Classic)
Oct. 3 Grambling State
Oct. 10 Open
Oct. 17 at Alabama A&M

No smack but we say this EVERY year... and every year 8 or 9 teams suck.

Not sure why you posted that. Sure we will lose to MTSU but a worst case scenerio out of that is 3-3. But remember, we used to have "Predict JSUs record" threads and people always wanted to say we would be 4-8, 5-6, etc... but we never were and we won't be this year.

Gibbs was the only player in Division I football to throw for over 2,000 yards (2,482) and rush for over 1,000 yards (1,006)

I didn't know this about Gibbs

The HAND

This might end up being my signature before the season's over.

Make it that now.. If Ivy had not fumbled that spike or if Valley didn't convert that 3rd and long... OMJ might have been 6-6 or 7-5 last year. You will dig yourself a big hole by counting JSU out.

Keep counting us out.....We will see who is down and out at the end of the season!!!!!!

Dude, ya'll ain't even a factor. The only BAMA in this MIGHT be ASU but according to the SWAC, this is a Mississippi thang...and YOUR competition is Valley.. yeah THAT Valley...
