Nope you miss my point. All of us took things away from our parents that we use to raise our kids. I don't know if you have kids but if you do, I'm sure you don't raise them the exact same way your parents raised you. Just because it was the way we were raised doesn't always make it the right way for us. I thank God for the way I was raised but I don't do everything in raising my kids that my parents did for me. It doesn't make it right or wrong it's just what works best for you is what you should do.

No I don't bring dat love like my parents but I do believe in tapping dat @ss. When bluedog walks the ground shake and so do that @ss if you get outta hand. Phugg a timeout. :lol:

I also believe in whipping my kids. But that's the key word, kids. That player Knight hit I'm sure is at least 18 years old. And I'm pretty sure his dad doesn't slap in the face just because he is not looking him in the eye when he is talking to him.

Hell no, I don't. First, when you sign to play for Bob Knight you know what you're getting. Secondly, I believe most coaches do this in the privacy of practice and give you the watered down version when they're on TV. But I know overboard when I see overboard, and that wasn't overboard. If coach goes overboard, I got a problem.
 
If it were my son I would not have had a problem with what he did. I have done much worse to my son... to get him to act right.

Dude you need to shut it down. It's been reported on ESPN that neither of his parents had a problem with it. As a matter of fact they said that they've been trying to get his punk @ss to look people in the eyes when talking to them so what you got to say about it don't mean da-da.
 
Let me add that Knight, like Hayes, won big. When Hayes got fired, his team won seven games that season. It was one of the worst seasons Ohio State had in a long time. As for Knight he had not made it out of the second round of the NCAA tournament for several seasons before he got fired at Indiana (hhhhhhhmmmmm). (Ryan Stewart mentioned that today.) It makes me wonder.

BTW as someone who had coaches who were disciplinarians, a taskmaster of a coach can come in many forms. For instance, Tom Landry did not yell as much as much as Vince Lombardi. But Landry was a disciplinarian.

My father, who fought in Korea and was in the army and air force, was a strict disciplinarian in the classroom. He cannot stand Bobby Knight.

So I guess you had no problem with Knight choking Neal Reed? And headbutting the dude, I think his name was Wilkenson.

I don't give a damn what his parents said. I don't agree with what Knight did. This thread is to discuss what our opinions are on what happened.
 
Simple solution:

If you have a problem with Knight or his methods then don't let your kids play for him if the opportunity arises. Otherwise, understand that he might get what Knight sometimes gives.

If you remember there was a new president at Indiana and he was not going to put up with the crap that previous administrations had put up with. If there had not been that change, Knight probably would still be at Indiana.

I see each case individually. No, I do not agree with him choking Neal Reed. I do not agree with headbutting. This incident ain't the same as them, tho. I can disagree with those, while not being bothered by this one. You seem to have this thing where if Knight breaths on a kid, you got a problem.
 
Y'all talking like he gave the boy a concussion or something. Not even a bruise. I haven't seen the tape of the "incident", but just from the discussion Knight didn't do isht to that kid. He lifted his head so he can look him in the eyes. Kids got a problem these days feeling sorry for themselves or when you try to tell them right, they burry their heads in their chest. Bytch look AT ME. Shake my hand with a firm grip. Look me in the eye. Get some character about yourself. That's the issue. I'm 'bout to get Joe Clark up in this thang.

Stop patronizing these kids. You're not helping them by being OVERLY protected. I bet not one of the players in the huddle had a second thought about what Knight did as warranting as being reprimanded.
 
I have one more comment on this topic and I'm moving on. I guarantee if that kid had been black, all of you that are backing Knight would be singing a different tune.
