Bobby Knight?

If people would stop treating these young men like girls they would grow up. These young men of today ain't got no heart.
 



Saw that this morning.
He "quick slapped" a player that was not looking at him in the eye while he was on one of his tangent's. :lol:
"Tips of the finger's" slap........................Wasn't much to it.

The University put in ZERO Tolerance when they hired him so he should be fired by their own rules. :slap:
 
I like Knight. He kicked a good player off the team this season for not having the grades. His players graduate. He has an "OLD SCHOOL" style of coaching. We need more of this is ALL Sports.

Co-Sign. I like Knight too........he is just like his Ohio State mentor Woody Hayes.....his players graduated too.

I opened up the Sport board earlier and was surprised that no thread was on it.

I saw the highlight, and quite honestly, I don't know if it was intentional. It appeared to me, for a brief instant, that Knight was just as surprised that it happened as the player.

Now, Bobby has gone over the top before; no question. This one just doesn't feel like one that a great big deal should be made of (yeah, I know: if it was my son.....double standard :lol:).

But I agree with the posts above that you can't argue with Knight's success and what he stands for old school mentality. More of that is needed.

I can't believe the responses from you guys on this board. Why do we continue to give Bobby Knight a pass for his behavior? I guess someone is going to have to die before we say Knight has gone too far. No one doesn't sign up to get slapped in the face. I am all for discipline but Knight keeps getting slapped on the wrist for doing idiotic stuff.

I wonder if instead of this being Knight it was the Science teacher who was getting on Johnny for not paying attention in his class. I am sure the responses would be different.

Knight is a bully and as of now not even a good basketball coach anymore.

I can't lie I would. :lol: I thought the article said he just lifted his head up. I'm with you that now. I wouldn't let no man slap me. I didn't see the actual thing.
 
Maybe Knight could have tried to get his point across a liitle bit differently, but it was not as bad as the Neil Reed choke job at Indiana. Because it was Bobby Knight it will be a big deal no matter what, but from what I saw it was no biggie.
 
I'm just waiting to see if ZERO Tolerance means just that.

But..................The President is already defending him.
Don't matter to me one way or the other.
 
Interesting comments.......I wonder what many said that to their sons when they pledged, played football, or joined the military.
 



The man is successful on and off the court w/ his players. Can't defend that.

I like his mentality and more of it is really needed. :tup: He JUST kicked the leading scorer off last falls' team due to him not having grades. What does that tell ya'?

What does that have to do with all the crap that he has done? I don't give a damn if Knight comes up with a cure for Cancer, that still does not excuse his behavior.
 
I wonder of some of you ever played sports. I had coaches that did much worse than what Knight did this time. I never had a problem with it. Nothing to tell the folk about. What was done last night was nothing to get all up in arms about. Since it's Bob Knight, it's an issue. He ain't no different than T.O. The smallest things get magnified.

I will admit I commented before seeing the incident... I just saw it on PTI and I think the whole thing is blown out of proportion.
 
You dont have to hit someone to get your point across. Knight would have got crushed if he touch me like that period!!
 
It was a love tap. Like somebody else said Bobby Knight graduates his players. :lecture:

I must admit it's blown outta proportion but if this was John Cheney they'd be calling the lynch mob.
 
Yeah its blown out of proportion, but it did happen! Its peaches and cream until it happens to you. Bob Knight would get dropped!!
 
Im watching PTI... and they are showing similiar incidents.... who saw when Beemer (VA TECH) coach slapped the wide receiver (on his helmet)... that dude looked like he was bout to beat the hell out of Beemer... I know my attitude and thats exactly how I would have been.
 
Thats what Im saying. It dont take all of that crap. If Bob Knight felt like dud wasnt listening, he shouldve said "you hear me" or bench his ass simple as that. This aint the millitary or nothing like that. This is basketball, when does it get that serious when you have to hit someone.
