Blowing on the other band's entrance

I agree! It is sad that J-State got smashed entering in 1997 and every year they make sure the get to the game 2 hours before the game starts to get a chance to blow on the U while they are entering. Get over it! Stop trying it every year SU marches in. It's gotten old! Secondly, please stop acting like J-State blows out SU every year and you are the orginators of certain things. If is a known fact that every rap song SU use to play back in the day you guys end up playing it the next game then add to your book play so much and so many years that you guys clam it. EX: Big Ballin, Gangsta B, Party Don't Stop. All New Orleans songs that SU played against yall that wasn't in your book why because yall didn't play back or didn't play it at all for that game. Then I will see J-State the next game and all of sudden yall playing it and keep it in your book and try to make it your own!! No Lie, No slander, but the truth! :nod::nod::no:

Every band takes and borrows from another. No band director can totally re-invent the wheel, plain and simple.
Other schools can more readily imitate su's band, but NO band can imitate the BOOMing bass sound of the Sonic BOOM of the South, although many have tried unsuccessfully over the years.

Bands are there to entertain and JSU surely does that to the max as does su.:nod:
The two most entertaining band programs I've had the pleasure of seeing and hearing over the last ten years, hands down.:nod:

When I played in the Boom (84-88), we did not blow on any band entering the stadium. We would stand at attention until they entered the stadium and we waited until the band got into the stands and then we blew on them! Standing at attention symbolizes Class! You also have to have Pride and Dignity.

Actually SU has gotten smashed I know twice lmao. 2003 amd 2006 definately dont know about other years but those years for sure. LMAO Im sure they got over it and now its just a habit.

Not the same effect. JSU blew from the other side of the stadium. SU blew right on top of JSU! :headphone

That would be the CLASSY thing to do. Times are not like that anymore, not even during my years.

What's sad is the Jags being a bunch of classless idiots. And what's even worse is that your GROWN up director acted like a child and did it on purpose.

Nobody wants to be like SU....one day you'll realized that. About the only thing we want is those dancing dolls...that's all you got other than that over playing....playing the same note across the board so you can sound like you're powerful, gay *****, lesbian filled band. :happydance:

I was at that game and that IN MY OPINION was one of the most classless and most disrespectful things the Juke has done. NO OTHER band had I seen do that and be THAT disrespectful until then. If you ask me....only a person who feels inferior or feels like they can't compete would stoop to a disrespectful level to have to do something like that in order to overshadow another band. Dr. Greggs looked like a spoiled pissed off child that day. NO CLASS that day. Just my opinion.

Agreed! He hated the BOOM marching in to "Get Ready" so much that he panicked and lost what class he did have.

Up until that time, I had NEVER heard a band play while another band is entering the stadium. It's so unfortunate to su fans that their director started this trend and the current director unfortunately is following in his footsteps.

Not a very good example to the young men and women in such a wonderful band.
