Black pastors bash NAACP for endorsing gay marriage

after reading most of these post on this thread several things are apparent; #1 it seems to me that some folks need to read the book of revelation. there are alot of really bad things that are going to happen to those who do not accept jesus as their saviour. #2 this "greed gospel" and "name it and claim it" nonsense is going to send many people people to hell because those messages are turning people off. #religion is the worst thing in the world because it makes folks do some crazy things (i.e. the crusades ) when folks are going to realize that religion is not going to get you to heaven it is faith in Jesus Christ and what he did for us on the cross is going to get you to heaven. ALL BLESSINGS RATHER SPIRITUAL, PHYSICAL ECT COMES THROUGH THE SON,JESUS CHRIST. is saddens me to see so many people who has been deceived by the devil. if you are not saved, just remember that you can still avoid all of that hell fire and brimstone if you just accept Jesus Christ. God still loves us even when we sin but we have to go through the son to ask for forgiving and repent. think of it this way, God loves the homosexual (the person) but hates homosexuality (the sin)

How can I ever say no to my Savior in Christ Jesus? I will always say yes.

So you actually believe that a donkey spoke Hebrew?! It's your right to believe this, but it's also my right to question what's in the bible.

If you say that that everything in the bible is true, then you have to believe the following:

a) the sun stopped, inspite of there not being a single historical record of such an event by any culture in the history of mankind;
b) that evil spirits are the cause of diseases inspite of what we know today due to modern science and the microscope;
c) that the sun revolves around the earth and that earth is the center of the universe inspite of what we've know via astronomy.

How can biblical stories like this be called the "truth" when we now know beyond any shadow of a doubt that none of them are true?

If folks can believe the above info, can it even be said that they'll believe anything, including the notion that homosexuals should be put to death as stated by the biblical god?
Leviticus 20:13 "If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."

Yes, it's true that all scripture is inspired by God and all those who worship and serve the Lord believe this to be true.

RB, do you know what you're claiming?
If you say that ALL scripture is inspired by an all-knowing god, then why did this god inspire his prophets to record information that's totally false?

Why would he do this, then claim it as truth?

It's all in the book.

It's all in the book.

I agree, it's in the book. Let me repeat it:

a) the sun stopped in midstream, inspite of there not being a single historical record of such an event by any culture in the history of mankind; Do you know how much this would've disrupted every planet and moon in our solar system? I guess not.

b) that evil spirits are the cause of diseases inspite of what we know today due to modern science and the microscope;

c) that the sun revolves around the earth and that earth is the center of the universe inspite of what we've know via astronomy.

Yes, THAT'S in the book you label as being all truth. LOL!!

If the world only knew what it has in THE BOOK, we would not have to have discussions like this one

Whenever a person asked Christ a question, Christ most often replied "have you not read...?" He asked a question with a question because "it's all in the book". Yep, if folks only knew what's in the book.

You're right Dacon, if folks only knew what is in the bible, we wouldn't have to have discussions like this one.

For instance, they wouldn't consider the book to be infallible if they knew that it said that evil spirits are the cause of diseases. They wouldn't consider it infallible if the knew that the bible taught that the sun revolved around the earth, nor would they consider it infallible because it teaches that animals can speak Hebrew.

If only folks knew that the book you speak of teaches that it's okay for fathers to sell their daughters to their rapist, they wouldn't consider it as being a holy book inspired by an all-loving god. ONLY if they knew this, but most don't.

Most don't know that the bible promotes genocide, slavery, murder, rape, violence towards one's children, animal killings, sexual abuse, plagiarism, inaccurate historical data, unfulfilled prophecies, unscientific data, impossible miracles and much more that's immoral and unethical.

Folks only want to talk about a loving Jesus, but guess who the god of the violent Old Testament is said to have been....this same Jesus who tries to preach the opposite of what he promoted in the Old Testament.
Nevermind the fact that he claims to change not. The New Testament is a complete change from the Old Testament.
This means that the biblical god DID change his mind.

If ONLY people actually knew this, we wouldn't have to be having these discussions.

RB, I thought it was blasphemy to compare yourself to your god.

As far as you answering a question with a question, perhaps the reason you do this isn't because you're following after the example of the Jesus figure, you just don't know the answer and aren't courageous enough to admit that you don't know, nevertheless that's your prerogative.

Despite your derision, it is not blasphemy to compare yourself to God; rather, it is revealing to have one's darkness exposed to light.

Well to be honest, when I look by on my own religious experiences, it is kind of laughable in comparing oneself to something I'd never seen, heard, felt, smelled or touched.

With that said I adjure you to stop having religious experiences. Rather, yield yourself to God and experience His life, love, and intimacy. There are an eternity of blessings awaiting you.

When I become interested in experiencing fictional tales from a book inspired by an imaginary god, I'll be sure to look into the bible a bit more seriously.
