:)

:lmao::lmao:

Right...his ole random azz!!
:lmao::lmao:

Well I did...so how about you just shut the fugg up since you aint never marched in a band that performs drills like this!!! Your opinion is null and void!!

I mean daymn...just say the show was tight and keep it moving. Stop trying to judge what everyone else has to say.

hit dog..

And Casey you ain't never march in no band that look even AS good as Ohio State.. Sit your lying arse down somewhere with that BS..

But I knew you would respond...

And stop leaving yourself wide open with comments like "ole RANDOM" ass..... You make this schiit way too easy
:tup:

The difference here is I had other interest. See Basketball team and didn't follow it to College. See Academic Scholarships and other intrest..I don't post band all the time and make bold statements about my band going undefeated 15 years in a row. I don't get high and mighty and make unfounded statements about other people who are not familar with all the band web pages and blogs.

You guys do...

you got a point..

:tup:

According to the show in the clip in this thread...my high school band was better. We have the most wins than any high school that ever competed in the Bands of America competition. Do you even know what that competition is?!?
Drill corps teams such as Star of Indiana and Blue Devils pay my high school band director to chart drills for them. The same drills we perform. Greg Bimm...look him up.

Once again...if you don't know what you're talking about shut the fugg up.

I would never comment on a high school band out of New Orleans b/c I know nothing about them. You know nothing about high school bands outside of new orleans...so you should follow suit and shut the fugg up.

But that pride and arrogance just wont' let you.
Sad, I tell ya!! :rolly::rolly::rolly:

As far as your hit dog comment...how the fugg is it a hit dog comment. you said, "but you hear all these "piece of cake" remarks like these same folks marched in something at least on that level or better"...I was one of the people making those comments. You directed it at me! Why can't I respond!?!?

How the fugg is that a "hit dog comment"?!?!
:lmao::lmao:

Jared,
your comments do be random as heyal!!
:lmao:

Then you try to change the entire topic to fit your comment when you were WRONG and random from the get-go!!

Of course I know what that is, how about you post a clip of your BETTER band in high school than this Ohio St. band clip, lying arse.. I am surprised you were in a band that had the energy you are claiming they had when you were dragging natural azz at JSU...lol but I digress

Fug him, I don't want to look him up, post a clip of your band or STFU

Once again...if you don't know what you're talking about shut the fugg up.
If you don't have evidence STFU

See this is where you got caught in one of your drunken monkey moments.. I know a lot more about bands outside of New Orleans, being that I did host 2 BOTBs both which included bands OUTSIDE the state of Louisiana, dumbass..this is too easy
But that pride and arrogance just wont' let you.

I searched last night for a clip of my band at the BOA's Nationals competition, didn't find any. The only clips I found are from State, which to my band director state competition is not important so the show is only half way finished, if that. Even though we win State every year in our division.

here's a clip of LD Bell high school band performing at the finals for BOA.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ay2k9mX0dXE&feature=related

As far as you hosting 2 BOTB's a year...you must not know much if you thought this clip of Ohio State's band was one of the best drills.

I'm done with you Jared.
As usual...you talk alot and know nothing.

You would have loved NC Central's band at Honda then... they tried that same thing you posted in the clip and everybody was lookin at them like WTF yall doing... now I enjoyed it because I can get into different styles, but the Ga Dome looked at they ass like they was crazy....

:retard:

I guess it is your job as a Pastor to save folks...

:goodbad:

If that was the case he would have work some things out for you to where you wouldn't be posting the jibberish you occasionally post..

Now don't reply, because you said you were done with me...

Which would you perfer CJ, that clip or Ohio State? I won't be able to view that clip till I get home. Can't view youtube here at work.

...Now for those of you that don't know, there is a difference between doing a drill and doing formations. What you saw from Ohio State that time and what FAMU does is nothing but formations. What DCI does and most corp style bands do are drills. It's a lot harder than just putting formations on the field and it revolves around several corp style marching fundamentals (the "Magic Square" is one of them).

That show was entertaining but it was not a "drill" in any corp style sense of the word.

As one who writes drill for corp, I'll have to disagree vehemently with you. Drill is merely the methodology by which the ensemble transitions in and out of formations. Ohio State is a high-step band; straight 8-to-5. Some of their drill is written by the same guy that writes drill for the Bluecoats. It's just drill. And with the software that we have to write drill today, there is not an awful lot to think about any more:

  1. Identify each participant in formation A.
  2. Identify each participant in formation B.
  3. Identify and special requirements of movement within each formation.
  4. Identify any specific travel requirements.
  5. Let the computer draw the rest.

FAMU obviously did not use this for TOXIC. Ohio State obviously did in the HOLLYWOOD drill.

The beauty of the drill is in the execution.

That?s what I don't understand, some of these "know-it-alls" keep trying to compare that to DCI when Ohio State marching 8-5....
GSU style is closer to what Ohio State is doing.. But GSU don't march an exact 8-5 though.
And that's the KEY word right there "EXECUTION".... That's the fine detail along with DETAILED SPACING!!! Which is why I question the expertise of some of the folk I know I seen in action and their bands was hardly executing and spacing wasn't the greatest.

That's the point I was making. I marched in a band where it's known we are the best drilling in pretty much all HBCU's.. And I saw those key words missing, which is why I said it's a bit more to it than JUST that...
The most important piece is detailed SPACING and EXECUTION! I don't care what style you march. Thanks for the knowledge dacontinent.

There is a huge difference between this drill and what FAMU does.... the main difference in the transitions between the drills... that is what FAMU is horibble at. FAMU's looks a MESS on field, hell they just end up running to the formation most of the time).... Look at the transitions between each different picture here... It was like they came out of nowhere, you didnt have to sit back and wait for them to form. I use FAMU's TOXIC drill for example... the final picture was TIGHT.... but you had to wait 7 minutes for it to form... thats one of the ones they should have just RAN to.

Heck ya, me and my buddy were sitting there like what the hell are they doing and why is it taking so long. It took sooo long.

my favorite drill university of tennessee i believe.

damn:tup:

The Ohio State show was nice and cute. But definately not the BEST I've seen. Not by a long shot.

I've seen high school bands with better shows than that. Their drills were a lot harder thus making it more exciting to watch.

This show (Ohio State) was cute, with the different drills/themes, but boring as heyal .LOL Through the entire clip I"m like, "oh yeah...ET that's cute. But this shy.t boring as heyal" I started fastforwarding just looking at each "picture"

IN MY OPINION, any high school band that makes it to the finals of the "Bands of America" national competition held every year in Indianapolis, IN (or used to) does a better show than the drill in this thread.
Marian Catholic High School (my high school), Lake Park High School, LD Bell High School...

But again...the Ohio show is nice. Cute. Precision is there, but it's basic as heyal.

I forgot you went to Marian Catholic. They always been raw, even though my HS was showstyle our BD made us respect MC. He ain't wanna be better than the other showstyle bands he wanted to be on the level corestyle bands. Ya'll wind ensemble was raw too.

I think they had some nice sets but I'm more used to seeing this pulled off rapid fire. However it IS the transitions that make or break a drill. Sets are nothing when the evolution is ugly.

I wish PV could get around the time limit constraints and get back to heading in this direction.

Well if they took that 5 minute drum feature out of some shows they would have plenty of time.
