Looking at the tweets from Topdog and Kenn, neither band did that tune.
 



Delta's and Kappa''s won the Greek Show.
No contest between the bands.

But what was interesting was the crowd. They were more folks in attendance then at the average SWAC football game.

They don't give the attendance and how much is made but the crowd was over 10,000.

Maybe some other SWAC schools could like at the battle of the bands and Greek show format. somebody made some eaasy money.

Look for over 60,000 at the game.:idea:

Also a free concert is scheduled for 10:00 Saturday
 
They really should start selling reserved seat tickets. Some people were trying to save entire rows of seats. Getting a seat in the plaza is madness. Something needs to be done about that.

I agree! It was madness but I had a great time!!
 
It seems like the Band portion was extra short this year, compared to clips I've had before and the other time I've been...

As far as the battle itself...:shame:
 
Don't know if yall are talking about the game or battle of bands the Friday night...


All I will say about that is.... GSU folks don't want to talk about that at all... That was a complete massacre... After hearing gram from the beginning of the season I kinda expected that though... The last tune they played by Beyonce was the best sounding joint they played the entire night....

I think they played that on at Halftime... I forget the name of it...

I liked when Gram played the Johnny Guitar Watson joint. I enjoyed hearing SU blow F*ckin You Tonight by Biggie.

Who was the idiot on the mic that was hyping up SU during the BOTB? That mf'er didn't have any class. Now when I was in the band back in the day, Dr Miller would have snatched the mic from that bastard and probably a little more. That asshole has NO CLASS!!!! It was what it was. We didn't need to hear all of that ignorant sh*t.

You being from Gram.. I can feel where you are coming from... alot of that should be saved for the folk in the stands...

But man... dude who announce for yall be in over drive EVERY year trying to MAKE the crowd get into what it is GRam is doing.. Singing on top of the songs... I mean really he be killing the whole show with that foolishness..
Let GSU play and how ever the crowd react they react for the SU announcer... He was on the yard with me and he a Que so I know how that cat is....lol

I wish they would just let the bands blow. Neither band needs hype men or rappers singing along with the bands. That just kills it for me. I think a lot of these f'ers just like hearing themselves. The show isn't about you fool...it's about the bands.
 
They are there to add flavor and hype the crowds up and give a blow by blow. The guy announcing for SU is DJ Marquis on 94.1 down here in Baton Rouge. Really cool dude and I'm sorry if some of yall don't like it, but the "This is embarrassing" line kills me every time he says that lol. That dude says what people in the stands say, but the regular announcer won't say. lol
 
Would you feel the same way if they added a DJ from N LA who was screaming crazy shit in the mic about SU? That isn't need on the P.A. If a band is getting clowned, the crowd will let them know. We don't need Bozo the Clown cooning on the mic.

He is basically saying what majority of the folk are saying in the stands... But it does sorta cross the line of disrespect when he starts talking about their "arrangements"...... Hell I totally agree, but I don't think that's his place on the stage...

There are ways he can get his point across with out going all out...imo....

The way he went of GSU arrangers he could have did that in a way like... "Did yall hear tha... oh well nevermind.... now it's time to hear a real band".....

I think the "this is embarrassing" line is cool....... Hell me, nate(before he became SU's asst.), Eddie.. and a bunch of us folk from SU been saying ALL what he is saying on stage....lol

You just saying that because what the dude was saying was true, but the guy announcing for Grambling said things just as well but we all know it wasn't true and that's why we're not focusing on what he said. That cat isn't in the band or work for either school. He has his a opinion and I think that's why they put him in that position. I think they tried to let the non biased announcers do the Battle of Bands and I think people got tired of that. This was done to liven things up, besides the same guy that's announcing been doing it for a couple of years now and he's said pretty much said the same thing every year. It just really hurts this year because Grambling's band is down, but don't blame the guy for saying what he heard or saw blame the directors for allowing the band to look that way. I call this misdirected anger lol.
