ummm, I agreed with you. That's when I made the point that if there wasnt a limit (remember when I said stadium capacity), yall point would have merit. But again, there is a limit. It aint a matter of who has more, cause 90K is the capacity, each school gets an equal amount of tickets and each school fans will clamor for tickets elsewhere. Now with just this limited number in mind, you don't expect it to be like a Texas home game, do you?

Nick Saban's eight-year, $32 million contract looks like something of a bargain, considering University of Alabama athletics turned a profit of $38 million in the last academic year.


The Associated Press reports that's almost 40 percent more than the year before Saban was hired in 2007.


The windfall doesn't include this fall's football success, which has the top-ranked Crimson Tide (13-0) heading to Pasadena, Calif., for a BCS championship showdown against No. 2 Texas (13-0). That sure-to-be-record profit won't be counted until the end of the current academic year in May.


Saban signed an extension through 2017 before this season. His salary will increase to $4.1 million in 2010, and he is scheduled to make $4.2 million in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

No school! Alabama calls off classes for BCS game
The Associated Press

Alabama students and faculty won't have to worry about missing class to attend the national title football game.

The university canceled classes from Jan. 6-8.

The school said Tuesday that students will have to make up for the lost class time. They have two days of classes upon returning from the Christmas break before getting another respite.

Alabama cited the number of students who have to be in Pasadena and those students and staff who want to attend the game.
