Bama cancels classes for three days for BCS Championship Game

That's what people don't understand about football at ALABAMA.
It is that serious to the 93,000 and the other's outside without tickets that pack that stadium weekly.
Boiled down to the bone, football is all that really matters to them and the $38,000,000 PROFIT show's that. :lol:

Everybody got rabid fanbases but them BAMMA mofo's are off the chain.
Get caught cheating, Probation, who cares as long as they win.
As long as they can pull down a banner or two between NCAA sentences, it's all good.
They will use the probation period to reload. :lol:

I just watch the news and the Alabama faculty is upset that the school has been closed for the Championship game.

Dog what you think bruh or anybody??????? Should they have closed campus for the game????

I'm kinda on the fence about this but im leaning more towards classes being shut down..... Why?? I just think alot of students are gonna wanna go to Pasadena and alot will stay.... I know some of the faculty is gonna wanna go.... But hell you can't please everybody......:noidea::noidea::noidea:

In past conversations with the athletes, they feel that the faculty place special emphasis on giving them a hard time because they are athletes. This was especially the problem when Mike Dubose and Mike Shula was the coach. The news today interviewed students and administrators who felt that certain faculty members would have been punitive to any student who missed class. Therefore, to avoid that situation, they canceled classes.

I thoroughly agree that education is important and should be the main focus. However, the band, cheerleaders, football players, and those associated with the athletic department will not be attending class that week and will have to make up class work. Therefore, in this situation the student body should have the same opportunity. I support canceling the classes.

PS: Bama will win by 13........If Colt McCoy wins the Heisman, Bama will win by 20 or more....

To the rest of the sane masses who occupy the remainder of the 49 states that might be true. But those folks who root for the Elephant, football is religion. If it was not that important, I don't think Nick Saban would getting paper upwards of $5 million a year to coach.

I think the players and trainers should be allowed to go. But it would only be fair that the band and cheerleaders stay behind and learn and not piggy back off the athletes' achievements. The players earned the right not to have to go to class. :lol:
 
Fellas, it all boils down to this:

If classes had not been cancelled, they would likely have been 90% empty anyway.

Period.

So why not just go ahead and cancel them. Also remember, (see my original post on this thread) classes will have to be made up by the students. Its not like whatever was gonna be taught on those three days has been tossed out of the window. :lol: The may take a day or two from spring break, or add a few days on the end of the spring semester, or add a saturday class, or just require the students to make up the work somehow during the semester. Either way, the work will be made up. :tup:

why are classes starting so early? I always thought college semesters/sessions(unless its grad 8 week sessions cause I start back on the 3rd :rolleyes:) started around the 15th or so. :noidea:

But like you said Deuce, they'd be empty anyways....might as well.
