Shhoooooottt, between the teens, the scorned and hot sisters, the brothers and ALLLLLL dem folk who had their babies (0-18 mos) up in there at 10:15 at night I couldn't enjoy it either. Hey, I'm glad if you got to go see it with the Golden Agers from St. Mark's. But over here, anythang with black on/in it, you won't be able to enjoy opening weekends.

yes, it will be a different crowd...thugs tend to attend these rapper movies. There will be lots of teens and younguns there, too. yes, that's them, j4life...I can hardly stand their asses. I have actually got up and walked out of a movie before, b/c of their lil punk asses. NO ONE could enjoy the movie, for them running their gottdamm mouths, cussing, dancing, you name it, they did it. :smh:jag4life said:

I saw the previews and ATL didn't look like it was worth seeing anyway. I think I'm getting old because these type of movies don't appeal to me anymore. Back in the day I was there opening weekend for movies like this (ie: Juice, Menace, Boyz, etc..) now I see previews & groan wondering if there's any originality in Hollywood anymore (where the black movies are concerned especially).
This movie looks like a cross between Roll Bounce and Boyz or Menace (take your pick). But I'm sure it'll do well with the rappers "acting" in it.

The last time I went on an opening weekend was to see "Higher Learning". Never again. Playing on two screens. These weren?t teenagers or mamas with babies. They were between 18 and 32. No gang affiliation. Just folks who normally just ain't comfortable unless conflict is in the air. I was trying to stay until the very end of the movie, but the girl I was with was ready to go 15 minutes prior to it ending. Sh@t, I paid full price for those tickets. It was after midnight when the movie was over. We left right when Ice Cube was getting his diploma. And this was in the suburbs. :lol: River Oaks.

Warn, it's all the same over here. Actually the teens are the aight, It's OUTSIDE the theatre where you don't wanna see them, they're acking a fool out there. Now them YT teens are worrysome as heck, but it's the adults and older folk here cause I expect them to ACT and KNOW better, but they don't.

This sounds like the Hustle and Flow thread before the movie came out. They gave some of us in Radio an advance showing while it's not a great movie it's not what ya'll seem to think it is. It's more of a coming of age story about family and making choices in life TI plays a hard working older brother to Evan Ross (Diana's son) Big Boi plays the neighborhood drug dealer trying to lure the youngster into the game. I will say alot of sterotypes are broken in this movie.
