The NCAA Board of Directors approved sweeping changes today that will no doubt alter the college football landscape.
For Jackson State, a school already under intense pressure to improve its APR scores in football, one change stands out: The APR benchmark has moved from 900 to 930. That change, approved over the summer, will take affect in 2014-15 school year.
“In 2014-15, teams that don’t achieve the 930 benchmark for their four-year APR or at least a 940 average for the most recent two years will be ineligible for postseason competition,†the NCAA said in a statement today.
