The buck ALWAYS stops with the President no matter what. Which I can understand to a certain point but is a president certified to be a Compliance Officer? Case and point GSU over the last few year have had scientist as presidents. I think our universities especially HBCUs place too much value in a person with an EdD or PhD. Give me a person with B.A. or B.S. with sound judgement any day. The first thing you will have out of black folk's mouths will be "He/she ain't got no PhD they no qualified." Look at every presidential search committee and I will bet $1 against a dime the first thing is: "A doctorate in a field of study from an accredited university."

Hell I know some people with PhDs and EdDs that if you asked them what methods they used in their doctorate they would tell you Microsoft Word. LOL

A university is a business and that CBS show about the boss who dresses up like an employee has proven that many owners only know one side of their business. Our presidents only know one side of the university business which is why they should hire individuals who can do the job. Yet, at many of our schools folks just want to STEAL a check.
Maybe SU should fire its Chancellor/President for this. Or its AD

I think it goes a little further than that. There are too many individuals on SU System Board with their hands involved. Thank God that SU's Faculty Senate have worked really hard to keep the Board honest when it comes to academics.

That was sarcasm.

You proved my point. Some of these presidents aren't qualified to be the head of anything, much less a university.

Though the buck does stop with the president there is a trickle down effect. That's why I stated my first point about people doing their job from student athletes, to compliance people, to coaches, and all other involved in the academic process.

I agree. GSU have had scientist as presidents over the last few years and each of them have run the university as if it was an experiment in attempt to prove or disprove a theory.

It's a combination of both. The NCAA is out to destroy HBCU sports and our leaders are sitting back allowing them to do it.
What?!?!?!?! Now it's the NCAA fault that yall have incompetent people in leadership and dumb athletes? When will the excuses stop and the accountability be owned by su?

I see you still have a half ass brain. Did you see the words COMBINATION and BOTH???

I suggest you read the article below in the attached link, but only if your half ass brain can comprehend it thoroughly.

Blah, blah, blah. Dude, stop with the excuses. Your leadership is moronic and your players are dumb. Thus shit must stop.

Dude, I don't have time for your Chicken George type games. Save that shit for those White folks in Concordia Parish. I'm sure they enjoy watching you skinning and grinning.

y'all might as well save your posts about this. You have another 5-8 more years to say how bad SU is with apr. it's never ending. It's the culture on that campus. From Admins on down to the students.

Right. And it will ALWAYS be the "Man" 's fault and everyone else. This is what you get when you let "Mercedes Benz drivers that live in trailer parks" run your organizations and entities.

The way it looks it is 5 teams ineligible for the Celebration Bowl

SWAC
Southern

MEAC
Howard
FAMU
Morgan St.
Savannah St.

None of which will probably make it anyways. Swac wise this should be PV's year but they will have to get over the GSU hump.

Scientists make great Presidents.
...... the QUEEN is an Engineer.

She is different. All of GSU's presidents have had some type chemistry background which made every situation feel as if they have a theory they are trying to prove or disprove. Many presidential decisions are common sense. I

The Problem is though that NC A&T had a whole month to prepare and still didn't bring the people Alcorn did.

The SWAC will have to carry the Celebration Bowl but again...the SWAC has forced people to choose between the SCG in Houston or the Celebration Bowl in ATL. The MEAC didn't have that choice but still couldn't outnumber the SWAC.

Just peep at the fucckery...

It's going over alot of ppl heads, just because black ppl are in office doesn't mean black folks will do right...

Alot of plantation bucking going on for checks...

(See Ray-Ray---Ray Lewis)

But this is some sad shat...

My have the tides turned..... in the beginning the MEAC was the gold standard now look at them.
It's cyclical however.

What I don't get is the fact that the NCAA took the post season ban off SU KNOWING the incomplete data from the first and maybe the second year (in which SU knew was incomplete ) my question???? is why take them off when you knew all along that the incomplete data would bring down the APR number and put them back on post season ban,, which from BANKS said he knew was going to happen.

It's called politics at Southern. I hope the new governor make some good appointments to the board whenever those terms expire. Even when I was there, SU's Faculty Senate has always worked hard to keep the academic side together. SU have/had some really great professors, but its leadership was always in question. Dr. Spikes probably was the only President that left Southern with a likable reputation and from what someone told me on here, she was at odds with our current governor (Buddy Roemer) at that time during her tenure, which is why she retired and left. Politics has always been SU's problem. SU (Alumni, Students, Faculty Senate, etc.) should start now to push for better leaders that those fools in the state capital appoint to the Board.
