I don't think Comegy has anything to do with jsu losing big games because they earned that Buffalo moniker long before he arrived.. My best guess is jsu has been cursed. There is no other way to explain it. I don't think the hiring of Old Man Jackson was coincidental.

If QuaCox had cut his fingernails before the game and had not barely tipped away a bomb from the back of the endzone, JSU may have lost to BamaState like we lost to PB in the SCG. If Cox doesnt tip that pass away and BamaState wins the game like that, I think Comegy wouldve been fired the next day. He doesnt LEARN.

But, See you all for homecoming...dont be like our last HC sissys...but the again, Comegy aint no punk

One thing is for sure, Comegy is a proven winner, very smart recruiter and a program rebuilder. Those combinations are just what Valley needed. It's time for Valley to take a step in the winning category.

We really have to stop bashing each other and realize that every SWAC program that improves is improving the conference. I want to see SWAC programs winning more non conference games and ending the season with respectable records. If Comegy can win at Central State and Tuskegee, then their is no reason why Valley can't turn things around. This 2014 recruiting class was a serious statement by Comegy. Many questioned if he could bring highly recruited players to Itta Bena. That question has been answered. Now, we just have to to how long is it going to take for Valley to start winning.



I think Valley can start their winning seasons by changing their mascot. Lol.

Comegy's Valley is going to be a problem for the SWAC. The man made a very good career move and you can see he has a new zeal for the game. I'm not sure their mascot has much to do with it. FAMU has the same mascot with Valley (a snake is the sign of a devil) but has been very successful over the years.

The only reason why changing our mascot is even mentioned in a passing discussion (with no seriousness in it) is because we are a HBCU. Duke (Blue Devils), Wake Forest (Demon Deacons) and Arizona State (Sun Devils) have done well with their devil mascots.

Here's the true unbiased answer to your question. BB and JayRob have always hated Comegy... to the contrary Ive always been a fan of Comegy until 2013. It was so frustrating watching a Comegy coached team struggle with EVERY team we played last year. Now maybe we werent that good, but one thing is for sure we were much better the teams we struggled with all year. This year was the absolute worst coaching job since he came to Jackson. If he had just handed the ball off 50 times, we would have been undefeated in the SWAC, but he insisted on running a 5 wide set with a running QB.

You will find out that he NEVER pays attention to detail. Ive seen coaches beat Comegy using the wind. Get use to seeing your DBs unnecessarily on an island on 3rd and 20. Maybe your offense will be average/practical with Gregory calling the plays, but you will never beat anybody with equal talent with Comegy.

That kid stepped out of bounds, but the game shouldnt have been close. Seems to me that he wouldve watched the 2nd half of the first game and continued that abuse in the SCG....again, he paid NO attention to simple details.

You will get better players. I have no idea how he find so many good players from Wisconsin and NewJersey, but they better be skilled before they get to Valley. Lets see what happens.

I don't know whether the fact that Jrock spent 6 years on here mocking Comegy but now jumps on his d!ck after he becomes Valley coach is funny or sad. Dude makes Mitt Romney look good. That's just how some folks are raised though.

Not to be Captain Obvious here, but aren't you all doing THE SAME THING you are accusing JROCK of doing? When he was there all we heard about was how good Comegy was and how mighty JSU was. Now that he is gone to Valley, a man that took y'all to 4 SWAC Championships can't coach his way out of a paper bag let some of ya'll tell it.

Still can't understand this myself. It's not like everyone not from lynch Street is just making this up. We can go back to the threads before the Alcorn game. Those threads haven't been deleted.

Like we keep saying: unwanted advice that no one from Valley never asked for

Where are the Harold Jackson threads at? That's who they should be concentrating on. Most are saying he will fail (with a 7-21 record in D2 I can't blame them) but I will give him the BOTD for a year or two.

You don't bash your own in public. Jayrob, Beans and a few others have been calling for Comegy's head in the private forum for about 6 years... Hell, Beans has been has been calling for all of our coaches to be fired in the private forum since I joined TSPN :lol:

If Broadway hadn't had a meltdown with alumni after losing the 2007 Classic, and he would have been focused on winning the championship instead of looking for another job, COMEGY WOULDVE BEEN FIRED !

You are right, but I love competition. I want Valley to do well. When Frazier went to PV, I liked his plan for success and rooted for PV on several occasions. I was telling everyone that a strong HBCU FCS program in that area is just what we needed with the rise of the Southland Conference at the time. As some Alcorn fans can tell you on this board, I knew that Hopson was the man for the job and was going to get them rolling within 2 years because of his great recruiting tides to the coastal regions of Mississippi, Alabama and Florida and the river parishes of Louisiana.


Now, it's Valley's turn to become relevant in the SWAC East. Comegy is a hard recruiter and rebuilds programs. I have always respected that. Valley will be very young this season, but they do have some serious talent coming in. Valley fans just need to remember that this is the SWAC conference and it's not impossible to have a winning season with a bunch of newbies. That defensive secondary and offensive line is going to be fun to watch. The secondary has speed, Boykin and two of the SWAC's top recruits in O'Neal and Young. The offensive line will have Gregory Black coaching up what's already there along with 8 newbies to work with. Anyone who pays attention to field details can clearly see that Black knows how to teach good fundamentals. My JSU alum-friends who have been around the program tell me that he has ways of making his lineman believe that they can play against any d line in the nation. I would think Valley folks are excited about him having 8 lineman on the roster to work with for 4 years.




That FAMU snake lost his rattler a long time ago. Lol.
