So new means better? We have the biggest and best everything at Memorial.... from the parking lot to the concession stand....

Can you dig it? :)
Man you tell that to someone who don't know anything about stadiums. High School Stadiums in Texas are better than your "Memorial" stadium. Berry Center, Allen Stadium, New Katy Stadium, and New Mansfield ISD stadium. Need I Say More. PV stadium is better and with renovation they will get in the future, y'all can kiss that goodbye. Like I asked before, can y'all change the name to that Stadium? Best HBCU Stadium, pish, show me where they say that.

What was wrong with the one I posted?

And y'all proposed a DOME STADIUM twice that size. Well, at least a few consultants made a few $100k-plus from that proposal.

Let me first say as I have said MANY times before. I think JSU needs a open air 25K seat stadium. However, what we get in the end will be what the state, city, and university choose to get for us. There have been NO serious talks about a JSU stadium. When we get a stadium, it will pass the legislature the first time. Again, we have the best stadium in the SWAC. ... we are in no hurry, ya'll are for some reason. We have more pressing priorities.

Other than the best stadium in the SWAC, I agree with you on everything else. You looking at $70 million to $75 million these days.

Mad? Cause Alcorn getting a scoreboard? LOL We've had TWO new ones since 2000.
LOL.. Alcorn alums got mad because I asked what they were expanding for? They ain't sold out but ONE since in the last 10 years and that was JSU in 2014. No need to expand for lil ole us. They THEY started with the insults after I suggested that they just upgrade their pressbox.
We suggest yall fix that raggedy stadium....

I can't speak for the SU game because I was not there but the JSU 2013 had way more than you all's homecoming last year (i was there with my JSU gear on.. lol ) . You all didn't even bring out the extra bleachers for Homecoming vs Grambling and the GSU side was not packed. The GSU game def didn't sell out. But ya'll not gonna get me to derail this topic simply because I asked a question.... im done.. you all can mess up your own thread....

NEXT!

You still mad brah?

Yeah but let's not forget that you JSU people are talking about y'all scoreboard when it is not about y'all. It's about Alcorn. Let's keep it about them. Then you guys want to bring up how y'all have this and have that. It's being giving to y'all. Not out of y'all pockets. Alcorn is the Back to Back SWAC Champions. With a new video board hopefully SU can look good winning on but we have a problem winning against them. But I think it's great. Great look for them but also great look for HBCUs.

They don't have a spare 70M-75M $$ to spend on an athletic... well, wait a minute. I forgot those people can use their state taxpayers $$$ targeted for higher education, what little bit they have lol :D , to fund their athletic systems. :D I guess we all got the answer on why mississippi's city of jaxon veterans stadium was given to them.

:D lol

Since the State is no longer responsible for maintenance and improvements, it knows that time is on its side. No repairs mean unusable in the future.

This is the problem I have with most of you on the board. When you feel like jsu peeps are attacking someone, you spew all this kumbaya crap then commence to insult and attack jsu. What do y'all want us to do instead of play somewhere free? Play in a HS stadium? Until the state builds us an on campus stadium like EVERYBODY ELSE, we will continue to play in memorial rent free. Folks asking us to do stuff they wouldn't. Idk any swac school or ms public university that built their stadium without assistance. If we get an on campus stadium within this decade I bet some of these folks would downplay it and build memorial up to be the best stadium we had. Until then, we will continue to make strides toward other facility upgrades and let UMC pressure the state.

So I will make every effort to get this thread back on topic so its not about what schools have what maintenance challenges that need to be repaired. Here is the latest on the scoreboard,

"LORMAN, Miss. – Fans will get their first look at the 2016 Alcorn State University football program Saturday, Aug. 20 when the Braves hold a scrimmage at 2 p.m. at Jack Spinks-Marino Casem Stadium. The date will also be the first time the new scoreboard will be officially turned on. The scoreboard will run throughout the scrimmage."

Can't wait!!!!!!

I'm ready to see that Alcorn across the top and how it looks at night

Brave, is the rear of the jumbotron facing anything where visibility occurs? Does the backside of the top w/ "Alcorn" appear on the rear to light up the night as well? That's an awfully nice feature to have, lighting it up @ night time.

I cannot wait to see it fired up, ON your campus.

The rear is facing the main street going into campus. It still hasn't been revealed what the back will be yet. Visibility 100%!

That's great forward thinking. A dusk-dark picture of the back and front, I can only imagine how that's going to look on the SWAC's godzilla-tron :D .

You are all too funny. The state allocates funds for upkeep of Memorial. We were not going to accept it otherwise.... i could type more but this is Alcorn's thread...

Carry on...
