Um update, there were over 30.000 at homecoming. Stadium holds 22,500. So like smart minded people, why cap the number of tickets when we have nice greens on the hills to seat people. So thats an addition 7500 heads. SMDH you must have came 2 hours before the game and left because Gram side was full as well.

Im not going to do this ....

On the new pic I saw of Alcorns Scoreboard, they have the A's on top now!

folks lie for the hell of it i see, both JSU scoreboards we're new when they were put in, yes Alcorn's scoreboard is smaller than JSU hence the statement, largest HBCU stadium owned scorboard smdh

Typical black person though. One has to make an effort to steer clear of those types at all times. lol & smh

I cannot wait to see the first pics when Alcorn St fires that bad boy up. It is indeed the LARGEST and BEST of any HBCU and has to be top-5 in all of D-I FCS. I've seen SHSU's monstrosity and I think Alcorn's sits right alongside the size of theirs. Good job, Braves. Sucks for those who don't have a videoboard, on their campus. lol :D

Man!!! They shot GR's hero (Sgt. Waters) for saying stuff like this.

View attachment 4527 goodolebrave, your hatred is uncalled for....

Thank me later!

Thanks TP! Now you see what a beautiful scoreboard look like in a stadium on campus.

Hand me down stadium. Y'all don't realize, everything about y'all football stadium is because the State of Mississippi is putting in to it. Not the Alumni. they have y'all that stadium. Y'all don't even win in it. But aye JSU fans stay trying to knock another school when they not getting attention. Y'all scoreboard is not larger that Alcorns. The reason why y'all say that is because it sits high. Stop the madness and at least applaud Alcorn. I mean they have won more SWAC Championship Games than y'all. Everyone's stadium in the SWAC is either named after someone that played or coached for them. Y'all is called Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium. Will y'all be able to Change the name? Nope.

Man I applaud everyone in the SWAC when something great is going on with them. I love this Conference. The best HBCU Conference that is. But man PV Stadium looks better than JSUs. Plus, I'm loving it. Will see y'all beat sTu first game. I mean y'all better. But to the Thread Topic. It's been a long time coming for Alcorn. Now they are getting something they deserve. They will get an expansion some time soon. I know it. Always some haters will want to see you not SUcceed or be great.

Renovating Veterans Memorial could cost more than starting over, according to the state report. (2008)

One of my instructors at Georgetown participated in this study and mentioned it in a class two years ago

The Associated Press

JACKSON – A study commissioned by the state says building a new stadium to replace Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium is a better option than renovating the aged facility.

The 60,000-seat state-owned stadium needs $42 million in immediate repairs and $108 million for a major renovation that would keep it useful for 15 to 20 years. (seven years remaining)

A new stadium would cost between $73 million and $156 million depending on size with a lifespan of more than 40 years.

The Department of Finance and Administration spent $250,000 on the study as it prepared to take over management of the 67-year-old stadium in July.

And 40 years from now, Memorial will still be a great stadium... look at UPenn's stadium. It's 100 years old...
We good.....

Y'all lucky, this is what we deal with on the daily around these typical types lol

Which is the $75 million they are asking for in help building the dome. Common sense (which we know the people at the Capitol don't have) would say if you give JSU $75 million for an open air stadium you might as well give it to them for the dome but they won't and rather play patch up with Memorial

You do realized that article is 8 years old, which means stadium cost have drastically gone up. A dome stadium the size JSU initially proposed probably will cost a half billion dollars to build, which is less than half of a new NFL stadium.

Unlike some other schools, we have other things on our mind that is more important... like trying to house 10-15K students. We need to build dorms, dining halls, parking decks and academic buildings before we talk about building a stadium. We already have the best stadium in the conference so what's the rush? Ain't nobody rushing but ya'll. Why? Anyone who talks bad about Memorial just for some reason wants us to have an on-campus stadium..as if that is some magic pill or something... The dome was mentioned for several reasons but most of you are too remedial to understand those reasons. If you are waiting on JSU to build a stadium, keep waiting.....we have other priorities that you will never have to worry about...

The stadium some people think is the best in the conference only cost $65M two years ago... but ya'll can keep reaching... LOL
JSU is at Memorial.. just come to Memorial to get yo azz whoopin.
JSU won't get serious about a stadium any time soon but it's good to keep people (important people, not SU and Alcorn hags) talking about it.

And y'all proposed a DOME STADIUM twice that size. Well, at least a few consultants made a few $100k-plus from that proposal.

It's ok man. I just want to see y'all grow man. I want all SWAC Schools to grow. But putting a school down because they work hard for what they are getting rather than just having things handed to you, not even cool. Like I said, Beat BCU. I will be a Brave and represent for the SWAC.
