When was the last time ASU was invited out of state? Remove that doubt.

I know. You were supposed to play Jackson State up there in 1997 after we pulled out of that joke of a Classic in Bham. Money was not right then and according to Mach, it still ain't right now. This is still a HUGE step for your program. I think you all need to let your fans know now because you know that they will be clueless about how to travel to a game. Inform them about stuff like airlines, hotel reservations, advance tickets, etc....
This is truly going to be an experience for the Hornets.

I like the match-up,,,,,,,, BUT IN FUGGIN' DETROIT?! GIVE ME A MO-FO BREAK. PLAY THE DAD-BLAME GAME HOME & HOME, option 1, or at least in Orlando, Birmingham, (or grudgingly, Atlanta,,)! What the fugg is up with this Detroit crap?! THIS GAME NEEDS TO BE IN ALABAMA OR FLORIDA, NOT STANKIN' DETROIT MICHIGAN!

Not with you on that my friend. So would an ASU vs AAMU game draw more fans in Detroit than in Birmingham? Absolutely not. How in the heck can a game in Detroit between these schools (FAMU and ASU) draw more than a game in Birmingham and especially Atlanta or Orlando? This game in Alabama or Florida would draw not only Alumns (and I'm guessing ASU's largest alumni chapters are in Alabama, or at least the alumni chapters in Alabama are larger than those in Detroit) but countless fans who go to games as a social outlet, to see the bands and because it's black college football.

Home & Home:
Then I guess we are basically 20 years behind the times. The trend for Div I-A schools (err, PWCs) is more and more toward home & home series and to gradually get out of these contracts with the big cities in the state where they play their big games. The main reason is to divert all the money from these games into the economies of the college towns where the colleges are located.
Thank you very much for that post Shelt. :nod:Originally posted by Shelt a 'Skegee Grad
As a resident of Detroit I can tell you that I am looking forward to this game. There are many HBCU alums up here who don't get a chance to see BCF live. We have to travel hundreds of miles to do so. Plus this game is on Labor Day Weekend, and will be played at the brand new Ford field downtown where on that weekend there will be lots going on.

I also said, AT LEAST HAVE THE FREAKING "CLASSICS" IF YOU MUST HAVE THEM, IN LARGE METROS CLOSER TO THE REGIONS WHERE THE HBCUS ARE! You telling me we can't find a stadium in Nashville/Memphis/Atlanta/Birmingham/Orlando/Tampa/Jacksonville/Mobile/N.O./Jackson that could accomodate an ASU-FAMU classic?
