A question for you Atlanta based folks regarding the Celebration Bowl

Man I bought that up and I got hit with the "it's a new buliding" line by a few folks. Those tickets were out of line with the HBCU crowd.

But at the same time Gram does have a bad history with this. I remember that game against JSU in B'ham in the SCG and the announced crowd was a lil over 43,000 and I'll be if JSU didn't have 39,000. I was like WTH the entire game. And if you were at the game you were saying the same.

I see no lies here! LOL

I am going to give my unbiased opinion about it. Of course I went to the last 4 SCG and the 1st Celebration Bowl. Alcorn don't have rich alumni but when it comes to Alcorn they are going to up that money. The thing about football season is you can't wait until it pops up on you. You try your best to save ahead of time so it won't be that much of a burden on you. Alot of folks at Alcorn save up for season tickets during Winter time and Spring. During the summer time we save up for away games. During the Fall we save up for Houston. I heard from alot of Grambling alumni that stayed in the same hotel that we stayed in Houston that it wasn't that many Grambling fans at the SCG because they just spent all the money in New Orleans for the Bayou Classic. You know you are going to the Bayou Classic, why don't you save ahead of time for it. Alcorn knew there was a great chance they will be returning to Houston so they saved up for it. Grambling was a favorite to return as well so why didn't they save up for it. Also alot of Jackson St. fans went as well since they loved Houston and Alcorn and Jackson St. are a lot of time split between families. Alcorn knew those Celebration Bowl tickets were higher than normal just like Grambling fans knew. It was already stated that folks were willing to call out from work if Alcorn made the Celebration bowl. Me personally I wouldn't have wanted to pay $60-$125 for tickets but I would have. I definitely wasn't gong to pay more than $50 for tickets for a game that didn't involve Alcorn. I not here to smack or down anybody but I honestly feel that Grambling fans are make excuses for their own fanbase. I also felt that Grambling is trying to make the whole SWAC suffer because their fans didn't want to spend money at the Bayou Classic, SCG, and the CB. Its a thing call the price of success. I would bet my paycheck that NCAT wouldn't have out numbered Alcorn, Jackson St., or Southern in Atlanta even thought they would have a whole month to save up and no championship game to attend.

Alcorn proved in 2015 that it can be done so I do not for the life of me understand how you know that your team was a favorite in the West don't know to save up as soon as the Celebration Bowl ended last year yet we are here. When folks are fronting on Facebook like they have their hotels in Houston and ATL booked yet for the 2nd straight year we are here
