A question about the old SWAC Page days

Before Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, Bluesky, OnlyFans, and all the other social media joints, there was The SWAC Page.

Some of you know I'm not lying when I say this, but TSP was so impactful back in its day that it had a social/cultural impact on the official SWAC office, SWAC coaches, and even school administrators. Can you all think of any particular event that started or was influenced by the things that were said on this platform?

For example, former SWAC commissioner Rudy Washington (against my advance not to) created an account on the forum and was known as "The Commish." He thought it would be good PR to interact with SWAC fans. It sounded good on the surface, but I tried to tell him, "Rudy, I don't think that's a good idea." Welp, remember the epic encounter he had with Get Ready? It was all over after that. Eventually, he got fired for overpaying himself and even filed a counter-lawsuit against the SWAC in which he mentioned The SWAC Page in his lawsuit.

Also, remember all of the smack talk that took place (I believe in 1999) when SU and FAMU were arguably the two best HBCU teams in the country at the time? The smack got so heated that it was reported (and I can't find that article anywhere) that Pete Richardson was holding up a printout of the SWAC Page message board, saying, "Somebody is going to get embarrassed." FAMU beat SU so badly that year that it led Get Ready to coin the term "FAMU scores again."

Can any of you think of any other events that directly resulted from this forum? I'm also of the belief that it was THIS PLATFORM that was INDIRECTLY responsible for The Tom Joyner Morning Show getting kicked out of the Baton Rouge market after the unfortunate bandfight.

Thoughts?
 



I remember when Kenn kicked all the band folks off the board right before the JackTown reunion and they went and started their own website and forums.

True story: I'm asleep in bed, and the phone rings at about 2:30 am. It was @kellis. And she goes, "Kenn, I just called to let you know the board is down." I'm saying to myself, "Damn, kellis really did just call me at 2:30 in the morning to tell me the board is down. But I'm not about to get up now, I'll try to fix it tomorrow. Besides, I don't want to wake up the Mrs."

After hanging up the phone, thinking the coast is clear. The Mrs. goes, "I just know some woman didn't just call here at 2:30 in the morning talking about that damn board being down."

I was like, "Oh, damn! How do I explain this?" :oops:

Asst big city officials & a big city's mayor's wife (Beckys, latinas, & Quedas) were lurking, reading, and privately emailing propositioning how turned on they were by "SmallTalk" and "Smack" so "lets have sex... stick it in dry like you said you would on TSPN." Say less! lol 👀😍 The then big city mayor's rich azzed wife mane lol - car hood, downtown, Raul voyering lol, lets get it then. lol

Last but not least, the SCRIMMA GOAT is a real thing. (RIP aunt Lou) The former mid-family reunions where Busch/Budweiser were sponsors and one yr Majic 102 broadcasted live had well in excess of ~6-7K folk at our reunion was something to behold. I didn't brush my teeth for 3 days over the w/e and didn't change clothes as I slept in somebody's truck that Sun morning for ~2-3 hours and then we commenced to partying it up yet again on Sunday day.

I earned my scholarship to hell with gasoline drawers on, smoking a kools mild 100 laced with meth, while drinking a glass of nitrous mixed with 103 octane racing gas and diesel.

There was a bunch of shat goings on behind the scenes. When the then employed athletic dept schools' admins DM'd, I was decently surprised. baylor, ut-austin, uofh, and "smoo" (smu) folk just lurking and enjoying the true life annual SWAC soaps and wanted to "taste" SWAC life. 😁👀

Those who I came to know read, fantasized lol, and wanted to join in but thought the "other AAs wouldn't like a white coming to our soirees." 👀

I remember when I used to talk trash to the women. I had them so mad one time they were in the ladies forum saying if they saw me they were going to whip me good. 😂 Well one weekend I just happened to go home to ATL to hangout by myself. I was at Atlantic Station and all the ladies from ATL and a few from other places were there to and I didn't know it. I just happened to go to the restroom and one of my girls from the page saw me. She texted me and was like they don't know who you are. Sit at the end of the bar and just listen to them dog you out. 😂 There table was by the bar. She brought my name up and they were calling me all kind of names. I didn't expose myself because well some of them were big and look like they could take your boy down. So what I did was I ordered them some shots from the bartender. I told him don't send them until I'm gone and read them this note. I wrote what's up ladies. Ole Cee Dog got mad love for you. It was nice hanging out with you. See you next time. After I cashed out I got the hell on. 😂
