We were d2 also during most of the times we played them. We had the same thirty six scholarships. Scholarships in d2 could be 3/4 and grants,1/2 and grants etc, that is how you stretched your scholarships and you could mix in academics and free up scholarships and since Tuskegee was private he had even more lattitude to manipulate the system using privately funded scholars programs to needy students.

Actually, we were not that good of a team that year. We didn't even expect to win the SWAC and when Big Daddy lost to ya'll, it was pretty much decided that 1995 would be his last year as HC....and then he won back-to-back championships!!
