This just means Texas will win. When's the last time the Heisman winner won the BCS NC?

Yeah, but Leinart was playing on a team with 12 future NFL stars.

who's disputing that? J4L asked who was the last person to win a Heisman and win the BSC. I thought to my knowledge it was Matt. my answer was about who won the last Heisman AND BCS, not who's gonna win the BCS this year. nothing more, nothin less. carry on.

j4l,

First offf, Texas is gonna get its arse whipped.

Secondly, as far as former Heisman winners' national championship results, that's because so many Heisman winners of the past were "paper" winners. They were created by the media, specifically ESPN, and most of them didn't even deserve the trophy in the first place.

Ingram is not the flashiest player to ever win the Heisman, but he and Alabama are legit. Trust me, he'll have a solid game, and Bama will win.

The reason I mentioned Matt playing on such a great team is because those cats who won the Heisman were not on teams as talented as the teams they lost to in the BCS Championship Game.

So how do you explain Ingram winning the Heisman over Toby Gerhart who had better numbers than him?

Ingram played in the best conference in America. He played against the toughest defenses week in, and week out. Check out the comparisons. The majority of Gerhardt's TDs were five yards or less. Ingram's TDs were much longer on average, which means he was a greater impact player.

I could go on, and on, but why don't you just enjoy Ingram's acceptance speech below . . .

Gerhart has faced six of the top 40 rushing defenses and gained at least 123 yards against five of them. His low against those six teams was 96 yards against Oregon State. In those six games, Gerhart gained 881 yards (146.8) and ran for 14 TDs. That average of 146.8 YPG is actually higher than his overall season average of 144.7 YPG.

Gerhart has finished strong. In his last four games, three of which came against teams currently ranked in the AP Top 20, Gerhart rushed for 742 yards (185.5 YPG) and 12 TDs.

The Pac-10 had five teams in the BCS Top 25 in 2009 compared to the SEC’s three.

It's an SEC thing I guess.

Nope. Its a competition thing.

Some of those teams Gerhardt faced had good stats 'cause they ain't playin' nobody.

So all the other Heisman jinxes were because they were paper? LOL Tebow lost to Michigan in a bowl game the year he won the Heisman. That same Michigan team lost to App State that year.

True dat!!!!!!!
RTR!!!!!!!

The man averaged 200 yards against RANKED opponents. Hey, Mark Ingram deserves the award I guess. Seems like a nice kid. But to say Gerhart did not play against anyone is very biased and short sighted.

I mean, if Mark Ingram does not play one more game than Gerhart, he does not win the Heisman. Ingram only got 5 more first-place votes than Gerhart did.

So the voters obivously waited until the championship games were over to cast their ballots. Which is kinda unfair. I mean one game should not swing the vote that much.

Where did I say "all"?

I didn't.

I said "so many Heisman winners of the past were "paper" winners" . . .

By the way, Tebow was great, but Darren McFadden was the best player in college football the year Tebow won the Heisman. And how McFadden and Arkansas did in their bowl game that year, I don't remember . . . and I don't care.

Man come on... not that year. Tebow's stats were crazy that year... and against the same competition as McFadden.

Mark Ingram will be on David Letterman show tonight.

Don't miss it.

Ingram has been bumped from Letterman. Their guest will be Alicia Keys  instead.

Three things to think about.........

Thank you Ric Rod for not coming to Bama after you had given your word that you was coming......

Tim Tebow was torn between Bama and Florida........It would not have been fair to the rest of College football if Tebow was wearing a crimson jersey.

What is real scary is ..........Mark Ingram might not be the best back on Alabama's team next year.......Richardson is a beast.....just ask Ingram...

I believe Brandon Spikes also almost went to Bama, right?

Yep, he was going where ever Tebow was going....

PS: What is your opinion of the Boise State vs. TCU game....I look forward to that matchup.

Yeah, that team would have been loaded. But do you think Tebow would have put up those same great numbers playing in a more traditional offense like Bama has?

But the TCU-Boise game will be the most fun I think of the all the bowls. Although I would have liked to see those programs play AQs, you should see a lot of big plays and a lot of scoring. I have not watched TCU play too many games, however. It will be nice to see what they can do in a BCS bowl game on national TV.

Tebow and Florida was the perfect fit.
