7 dead, 6 wounded in Chicago weekend violence


Black America does not have a gun problem,the problem is a horrific disdain for each other. Just this past weekend here in my hometown,a man was killed with MULTIPLE gun shots. MULTIPLE??? I mean this guy really hated his victim that much that he had to empty his gun in him? What I see is a lack of cordiality,lack of courtesy,lack of civility in young black males. It's easy to kill someone when you feel that they are less than human. And really,it's a nation wide problem in our community. It seems like that the attitude of being hard and thug in black males has made monsters of them. At one time black males,if we are standing in a check-out line,we could start a cordial conversation about sports,like the superbowl. But if you ask one of these young cats today who they got in Sunday's game they will look at you like you are crazy,and don't say a word and turn around. When you lose your civlility to carry on an innocent cordial conversation,then that is maybe the first step on a path of disdain for anyone. Don't know where and when this evil mentality permeated our black males,but that is the horrific thinking that is causing these lost men to not even think twice about pulling a trigger to murder someone that in their twisted sick mind "dissed them".

Being armed has not stop the killing and no law will either. Most believe they have to pack to protect themselves, even the youth of today. A 10 year old brought a gun to school last week and said his dad gave it to him to protect himself. This is what our culture has evolved into. That's reality. The discussion should be how do we change the culture and restore some sense of sanity.

No one to my knowledge supports the genocide going on in Chicago and other cities.

This is nothing new unfortunately. In fact, homicide numbers were worse in the 80s and 90s when between 700 to 900 people a year were being killed.

And this is when there was a full gun ban in the city. The problem is obviously deeper than this. It's part poverty. It's part drugs. It's part access to guns (illegally or otherwise). It's part lack of quality education, health care, marginalization, etc. And quite frankly it's part lack of human value. It's just a lot of things.

So when do we start looking at ourselves and address the issues?

We want to cry and bytch when a white man kills a black boy but won't say word when Pookie does it.

Pookie goes to jail and gets out and is a HERO. Arjay goes to college and he's hated.

We elect the same sorry Negros that get into office and do nothing.

We elect the same sorry Negros that steal from us because they look like us.

We cry about the lack of quality teachers in black schools and yell it's due to racism. Yet won't look at how our kids behave in the classroom.

We won't call out that hood haired hooligan that has kids and dumps them into Special education and hooked on any medication in order to get a check from Uncle Sam.

We won't stop encouraging our black boys to be jocks and rappers so they can take care of all their kinfolks, who leave them when he goes broke.

Who is telling all these black women to lay up and belt out litters of kids?

How many single mothers are ruining black boys on purpose?

How much of this mess is US? The MOMENT someone tries to call out this mess out-black folks attack him and call it self hating.

We excuse to much crap in the black community.
 
Where's the "Black" church when you need 'em?

Where there are no responsible fathers and dads, the boys perish.
 
How many of you gun owners have actually had to use your gun to defend yourself when faced down with a KILLER who has his own gun? And dont' come in here lying (cee) talking about you had to defend yourself against 5 hitmen that were trying to rob you in your home and steal your old school record collection. :rolleyes:

Or how many of y'all just collect them and go to the gun range every now and then and afterwards head back to your nice comfortable safe neighborhood never to see or deal with the very people y'all claim y'all got the guns to protect yourself against? :popcorn:

SS yall can spin it anyway yall like. The reason Chicago is out of control is because there are no rules. There is no death penalty so these guys go to jail and eat and live good. There are no road blocks set up to catch them riding around illegal. No one talks or tells anything because those folks up there protect gang bangers. They target average working folks because those who work don't wanna go to jail so they don't own guns.

There was a death penalty in the 80s and early 90s when they were killing almost double the number of folks being killed today. The death penalty isn't a deterrent.

Actually I have, twice. Once when someone was attempting to break into my crib and once when someone tried to rob me as I got into my car, so?

You one of the few b/c most of my friends that yell they want their guns don't even need them other than recreational pursposes. And before you yell it's your "right" to have them for recreational purposes (which it is) there still needs to be limits on those "rights" just as in other instances when those same "rights" are being infringed upon for the "safety" of everyone else.

You act like they were ONLY committing crimes in the 80's or 90's over dope. Like there weren't any robberies, gang killings, etc. going on. You act like Dope doesn't exist today or it's not as hot or wanted in the streets like it was back then.

To coin a phrase, "It's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it." It's called security. Many of us evil gun owners, may only use our weapons for recreational purposes, and some of us even go to the range to keep up our skills, so if that "day" ever comes we will be prepared and ready. And just because some if us live in "nice comfortable safe neighborhoods, it doesn't mean that Pookie or Billy Bob, won't come trying to take something that doesn't belong to them. So again security. Now as to the rights of one infringing on the rights of another, you'll have to explain that one when it comes to gun ownership. Because the bottom line is, the only ones to be hurt will be the law abiding citizens and not the criminal element. Why can't people like you who have issues with guns understand that? If you take all the guns from every law abiding citizen in this country, the criminals will still have them.

This issue in Chicago is deep and won't be easily solved. When you tear down housing projects like Cabrini Green and Robert Taylor and dump thousands of inhabitants in other unfriendly neighborhoods and territories, then surely it becomes a recipe and deadly explosive cocktail for disaster. Gangs along with other criminal elements as well are in that deadly mix. :shame:

:shame: It looks like a very bleak and dismal future for our race. We as a race have to either be overly populated in "Hell" as well as the graveyards. For the rest of us who appear to conform to society, maybe God will allow us to inherit his divine kingdom. It's the only option we have.

P, Jessie and Al isn't Moses and we shouldn't expect them to show up every time there is trouble. And if they want to cherry pick where they show up the important thing is they are doing it the way they want and what they can. The people in those communities need to find solutions, not Jessie, Al or no one else. The Nation of Islam have the perception of being able to handle these type of young people in Chicago for example but I don't know what they are doing to help the situation out. I think (could be wrong) that they would be an excellent organization to lead and clean up the murders in their Chicago community.
