Just like State Farm pulled the rug from yall, and soon to be NBC.
Yall need the BC funding wayyyyyy more than JSU needs the CCC. Our athletic budget isn't tied down to one game. Think about that.

You do know one can survive without a title? A title sponsor is just that title, they wanted their name pushed out there with the BC, they throw money in the pot and sit back and hear their name associated with the festivities. You do know another title sponsor will emerge? You do The Bayou Classic functioned for decades before State Farm even entered the picture. You're talking like JSU has the biggest athletic budget in the SWAC. Try again. Seems like you all need the Alcorn game to pay to maintain your stadium. That's why some JSU people are so mad.

That's what happen when Jindal easy up with his foot on their neck and give them some breathing air. Then they want to talk smack.

That's when you all use to get all the best black talent in La, but now since LSU and every other SEC raids the talent pool the talent level has gone down. And no one is going to come watch a talentless team being ran by an arrogant coach when they can load up their RVs and drive to Baton Rouge and watch the Bayou Tigers in purple and yellow. Ain't that right DCG?

Wrong again! :shame: The powers that be wanted the game because the realized the economic impact of the game "every year" in the city of Jackson. Now, instead of having this economic impact every year, we will have to make due with the impact every other year.

Hell, if I were them, I'd fight to have the game every year in the city too given the financial impact. But it is what it is. You Alcornites should stop trying so much to be smart. It's not like yall!

:emlaugh:

Brown got them folks in Lorman Crunk!! :emlaugh:

If y'all don't sit y'all $5 asses down somewhere...you are STILL Alcorn!! :slap:

This shat is over. :goof:
The game is at Alcorn. You want $500,000, you better add some more seats to Jack Spinks. Next year, JSU will show you how much money can be taken in at a JSU/Alcorn game with no promoter taking a cut.

Either the news hasn't gotten to you or you're just voluntarily ignorant of the fact that JSU owns Memorial. It'll be our choice to turn it over to the state if we choose to, but we sure don't have to pay thousands for the upkeep like other schools.

As far as road games, tell me how to calculate road attendance numbers. LOL!!
What I do know is we constantly sellout SU, Grambling's attendance is above average when JSU comes to town, as does Bama State's. We average 50,000 in Memphis on a yearly basis, we average 40,000 during the Alcorn game.
Anytime we have a classic game on the road, our numbers are usually 45,000 plus.
Now again, tell me how to calculate road numbers.

Man............... The only thing these clown SU posters know is MR Charlie and YT. Let them fools continue to post BS and ignore them. I knew they would be in here with the same ole BS smack from the same ole BS SU posters before I even clicked on this thread.

So you're guessing and hoping you get a comparable sponsor? Good luck. Fact of the matter is the BC covers almost two-thirds of SU and Grambling's entire athletic budget for the year. You REALLY need this game.
We don't really need this Alcorn game. Jackson's mayor is the one whose making overtures to Alcorn, not JSU's President.

What JSU folks are mad? We're merely commenting on the gridlock and inconvenience it's going to cause due to the fact that Alcorn's not used to handling large crowds. I'd rather enjoy the game in acomfortable environment and not be packed in like sardines.

As far as maintaining our stadium, that's already taken care of. Wish I could say the same about yours and that yellow grass.

These clowns are always wrong.
They too blind with YT and Mr. Charlie post to even understand that it is the CITY OF JACKSON AND THE MAYOR that is fighting to keep the game in Jackson every year because of all the dollars that the game bring into the city for 3 days. Not JSU. JSU will make goo-gobs of money off this game in Memorial next year and don't have to write a check to anyone.

Okay, raise it to 60,000. It makes no different. Mississippi Confederate Memorial Stadium is way smaller than the Mercedes Superdome, which is a worldwide known venue that could potential bring in a much larger T.V. audience than Memorial since it is already setup for such events.

Man.
Ya'll still hoping for a sponser so you can get a check. We don't need one playing in a stadium that we receive all revenue from all events from.

You SU posters have no sense of business. Guess thats why the powers that be down there actually sold the biggest game on your campus away to JACKSON and CONFEDERATE MEMORIAL in a multi-year contract, thus screwing your entire community in Baton Rogue out of millions in revenue for those weekends. That is what the MAYOR of Jackson want to keep going.

The City of jackson and the Jackson Metro is still laughing and thanking ya'll for that dumb financial decision on SU's part.

And in case you have not been looking, it don't matter that the Superdome seats 83,000. The BC has not been close to those numbers in over a decade.

SU all up in JSU/Alcorn business and they getting reemed by their Governor every day. They need to pay a little closer attention to what is happening at their own house a little more.

Not hoping or guessing, i'm very sure of it. My fathers friend is on the Bayou Classic committee and many companies are already trying to be the title sponsor and they aren't hy-top companies.

What's East Baton Rouge parish generating more money than Jackson have to do with SU/GSU folks pumping millions into the New Orleans economy instead of the Baton Rouge/Grambling communities? Nothing.

At the least, Jackson get's the game every other year, but BR and Grambling don't get jack from the BC any year.
On the other hand, one can only imagine the amount of money pumped into the New Orleans economy by BC attendants.
Has to be more than 5-6 million.
Since some want to make comparisons, just imagine if most of that money was put in the Scotlandville economy or Grambling economy.

Then again, if the game wasn't in New Orleans, NBC wouldn't televise it and no sponsors would be as interested.
Need I get more technical?

lol u still fail to read and understand.....let me make it simple......If SU was the only school in Baton Rouge and Baton Rouge didn't drive in money year round...the city officials would put up more funds to get everything we could here in BR......but since Baton Rouge has one of the top economies in the country...Its no need for them to put the extra funding into trying to get every little thing in Baton Rouge....We own Everything...Scotlandville still makes money.....Count back 10 years ago and tell me how many hotels were right by SU's Campus?...Losing seasons and all they still got built..and that area is on the come up......yall sound so desperate :lmao::lmao: putting up money for alcorn to give yall their home game....If we played yall in BR this year .....jackson would really hurt outside of homecoming

Exactly, they have already added sponsors, announcements are coming shortly. :)

The only ones here sounding desperate is ya'll trying to convince people that baton Rogue actually GAS about ya'll. How much of that economy trickles down the the community that supports SU and lives around SU. All those BIG DOLLARS that go to supporting any college events when they are given out are going to LSU sponsered events and you know it.

Living off of LSU welfare.

Good................ Hope ya'll get a good one.

But we not gonna be like ya'll hoping for your downfall. Concentrate on doing ya'll and let us continue to do us at JSU. Been working very well for over a century now.

Then why are you all cutting programs to stay open? Why was your band needing money to travel? Why was your women basketball girls crying in the media because they didn't have money to go to the playoffs? Why?

Like I said, good luck cause if you don't, somebody's budget's gone require some more program cuts.

Right.

Did this ninja just say BR has one of the top economies in the country?

They #2 in the top largest metro's because of all the natural resources there............Gas, oil, etc. But we all know that none of that mjoney go to SU or the surrounding community that makes up SU.

Dude, you make no sense at all. You mean to tell me SU is cutting programs left and right but yall don't need the money? Are you serious?
Your post had to be a joke, so I'll take it as such.

As far as playing Jackson. you guys played us in Scotlandville last year and we STILL had the highest SWAC attendance and ranked in the top five nationally. Try getting your facts straight before typing nonsense.
