2025 Football Schedules

SHC better start paying schools their worth, WITH expenses paid if they want this classic to continue. Hopefully this wakes them up

The solution was simple. TNState has no fan base and averages 3000 ppl per game. All the classic had to do was double JSUs payout. TNState was happy with what they get. They have no leverage. 30K average vs a 3K average. That's simple math.

I heard it was horrible the year Coach Prime went BUT when I went in 2023, it was nice! Wasnt a sell out but the crowd was nice and during the drive, every commercial was about the Challenge. The city of Mobile does a great job and the city supports it. The year Prime went, I dont think they were ready for the crowd PLUS it was freezing cold. Even for a smaller crowd when I went, parking was a challenge.

They also had a Boosie concert! 🤣

The Gulf Coast Challenge is a good experience. Mobile is a city that has a lot of SWAC alumni in the area and the payout for both schools has been good (recent years for JSU and AAMU has been in excess of $400,000). But timing is always going to be an issue on your schedule because that game has been very close to homecoming dates and sometimes that make fans choose on going or staying. That's a big thing I've heard from a number of people who've attended over the years.

Even tho I like the Challenge, I dont think it should be a yearly thing. But it's a good game from our alums in parts of MS like Hattiesburg and along the Gulf Coast and even New Orleans. And of course, our Alabama alums are not complaining. It's a turn around trip for most.

The Southern Miss Golden Eagles have added the Jackson State Tigers to their 2025 football schedule, FBSchedules.com has confirmed.

A copy of the football game contract with Jackson State University was obtained from the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) via a state public records request.

Southern Miss will host Jackson State at M.M. Roberts Stadium in Hattiesburg, Miss., on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025. The Eagles will pay the Tigers a $375,000 guarantee for playing the game, according to the copy of the contract.

The possibility of the Southern Miss-Jackson State game was first mentioned by USM Director of Athletics Jeremy McClain back in December 2023 on SuperTalk Eagle Hour. However, the contract was not finalized until last year.

We should not play for that small amount of money that is being generated mainly from the JSU fan base! Coach Prime was right when he backed out of deals where we did not truly benefit financially. We are the HBCU National Champions and I say don’t play for less than $750,000.00. They will not get a feather in their hat, if we lose, without paying for THEE feather!

Maybe something in the ball park of what they're paying without the BOOM! And no welfare funds should be part of their check! 😊 They must be thinking they're Marshall South already!

You are too funny! They need to get their money right. To move the band costs money and they should not get “THEE Thrill of A Thousand Eyes” without paying more! We are not a welfare case! We Work!

But you dumped Memphis for the same but they get a hometown discount?
Yes we should have dumped Memphis after 30 years of getting used. We don’t need to play Southern Miss either. Unless, they get their money right! THEE fans follows THEE Team and THEE Boom so, THEE should get more!

An hour trip vs a 3 day trip where the city and promoters makes millions ain’t the same in anyway. Especially when you have to pay for everything with that $350k for all 3 days.

Folks slow man. lol they be waiting for an opportunity to critique THEE ; sounding dumb as hell.

JSU to USM is 80 miles (1.5hrs)
A turn around trip.

Memphis (220 miles, 3 hrs) was an extended multi day event. Hell, it got to the point where the students had to be there on Thursday. AGAIN, Folks worried about the wrong thing 🤣.

We moved on and we’re good. We’re winning in multiple ways. We came out on top. JACKSON STATE made that classic what it was and we moved on.

Not likely. Their schedule has been out a few weeks now

7 games in Nashville and only 4 on the road????

A&M vs Tenn st 2025 🤔

AAMU and TNST should play in the SHC for at least 3 years to see how it develops…..get a reasonable payout though…..TNST have no shame these days though and probably too scared to take that L and would prefer to play MVSU and UAPB. My has the mighty fallen. Perhaps since they believe they’re on the come up, they will now consider.😆😆😆😆

Yet it took 2 great institutions 30 years to figure out this game wasn't profitable, but for the promoters/ Memphis? Now you're math wizards all of a sudden?

Like I said: We’re good. We’re winning. We moved on. You’re still bothered by our decision to move on and it’s killing you that all that hehe & haw’ing y'all did turned out to be the general public laughing at the state of *rambling football.

You are worried about the wrong thing!!!
Worry about what math you all need to do to increase that piss poor attendance because that hole sees more foot traffic from stray dogs than it does alumni, fans & local community. All we see is stray dogs running through that mud hole but no fans in the stands. Let’s look at the win & loss columns. You competed for last place in conference with a 2-6 record.
2 < 6 Elementary school teaches the kids that the alligator eats the number that’s greater than….. and Yall real heavy in the “L” column. Gone head & brush up on ya arithmetic to catch up because you’ve been left behind. Which explains why you’re stuck in 2022 and JSU is putting together the 2026 class because the coaches wrapped up their 2025 recruitment & replacement over 2 weeks ago.

Illiteracy Dog send help! Cause we good over at 1400 J R LYNCH!
