Don't forget -- well officiated! We always hope for that... :rolly:

Any word if the SWAC is going to get in one of the regional consortium as it relates to officiating? From what I learned at SLC Media Days, this is the direction that Division I is going in for football, a lot of regionalization -- just like it is for basketball (though I am not sure how the SWAC handles that either).

The SLC started one with the Big 12 last year and officiating improved as we got combo Big 12/SLC crews. Can't complain if the same bonehead who made a call in the Red River Shootout is making the same calls in the Battle of the Piney Woods...

As far as ESPN and ESPN2 go, seems they got more and more contracts with different conferences now. Even moving games to Tuesdays won't work like it used to back when considering some game will be on. FCS coverage has raised on the major two of the ESPN family (see App St vs Wofford)...and isn't Grambling playing Texas Southern in San Antonio in that TV game?

Don'tchall break your television remotes looking @ PVU-TSU on 08/30/2008. :emlaugh:

We see y'all looking. :wavey: lol

Remember when BET and MBC covered Black College Football? But black folks complained about the coverage and then it went away. At least it was some coverage!

nt,
NBC, ESPNU and ESPN Classic are available nationally.

The majority of national cable providers do not carry ESPNU. It's standard with sattlelite. Most subscription tv is cable. Also, I stated cable, not network tv. We all know the BC is televised on nbc. I wasn't including the scg. My comment was for the regular season. You all are so sensative. I'm happy you all don't have reception issues with sattlelite in your area. It's not that consistent hear so you just have to give your money to comcast and call it a day. My mistake on gsu and asu, didn't see that one. OK 2 games.

Most of the cable providers in Alabama carry ESPNU on the digital cable tier.... u may want to check with your cable company again.... because alot are adding it. ESPNU is coming in high demand by white folks from mid major programs (especially during basketball season).. and thats why alot of cable companys are adding it.

sensitive? :scared:

Smart money says that since you "have reception issues with satellite in your area" then you must be the one who's "sensitive".

Fact remains, as stated, ESPNU and ESPN Classic are available nationally.

Black folks would complain if the game was on ABC.

LOL....Marino Casem send help.

They did choose some good matchups this year...TxSo-PV, MCC, CCC, FAMU-SU. However those four games are on tape-delay. We can't get ONE live game on Saturday on ESPNU?

see then another complaint would come.... officials of the game would say it would bring down attendance. I say play it live and black out a 100 mile radius from the stadium.

I have never seen TV hurt attendance. Most people go for either the atomsphere. Sure, some would watch it home....like my mama who ain't going no where near a stadium anyway....:lmao:

Was Charlie Neal on BET or was he with MBC when he made that famous statement:

"Alabama State continues its MASTERFUL DOMINATION of Jackson State"

TP,
Remember that?

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

...and you could tell he didn't want to say it. He has seen the glory days of JSU football. I am sure he had a tear in his eye watching a lowly program beat us.

dude please, tv does affect attendance in some cases. Those 10 or 11 o'clock games on Saturday, folks do complain about. They also complain about having Thursday night games in some conferences.

P.S. Hopefully Valley will take their opportunity to shine on tv and do something with it.

Up in these parts the majority of people have cable. It may have to do with the frequency of weather changes. If the majority subscription tv is through cable, how is a channel national. There are more people with digital cable that have LOGO than ESPNU. I also pay for the sports package for comcast. ESPNU and FoxSports South aren't included. Availability is still marginal.

You changed too many variables. sheesh.

I am saying that if you show the games at the times they are listed, there would be no significant drop off.
I used to drive from ATL with a car load of people every year to JSU games if they were on TV or not.

.......man they gave us that bullcrab also, instead of ESPNU.:angry:

I hope I am wrong, but is the conference title game taped delayed according to the schedule? If so I thought the days of taped delayed games were over.
