Aug. 31, 2002, JSU will play Southern Miss (USM) in Hattiesburg. Don't know if there is a return game the following year. We are also scheduled to play Northwestern State next year in Jackson. That's a home and home. Of course there's Tenn. State. Don't know JSU's other non-conference game(s).

They snookered us into playing in hattiesburg huh robber? I hope culberson didnt sign unless it was a home and home.

what are they gonna do about chicago?

LOL I noticed that too.

Well looks like JSU will have another difficult schedule.
If that schedules remains why would we play AAMU so late in the season.

JSU will have a pretty tough schedule if we play Northwestern, USM, and A&T, along with current SWAC teams bringing a stiff competition.

I must say it is truly not the days of just JSU and SU anymore... heck we cant win em all, and it is good to see the other teams stepping up...

Now if ever team in the SWAC was tight on compettiton then we as a conference would really be unstoppable.

The only thing I have heard was that GSU is playing TennState in Las Vegas... is it true????

TALK OF THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS. WE HAVE McNEESE, MAYBE PORTLAND STATE, AND PROBABLY WILL TRY THAT CINCY CLASSIC IN 2002 (AND THE REGULARS STATEFAIR, RED RIVER & BAYOU) AND MAYBE AN OUT OF THE COUNTRY TRIP...BUT WHO KNOWS:idea:

That would be "L on earth" if Alcorn plays JSU at Alcorn!! That would be a shame!! I remember the last time that Alcorn played JSU on our campus!! I wasn't at Alcorn then but I was at the game and it was a complete mess!!

I don't what our schedule is looking like. I haven't heard anything at all.

AAMU Homecoming??

Yall cats got TnSU for homecoming??? :smh:
It may get Ugly...
whatcha think??

Heck, I suppose TnSU can have a off year too huh?
Ya neva can tell....

ASU/JSU

I hope that game is not moved back to campus.I still remember 1992.But the roadway is 100% better. My head is still pounding from the traffic jam.I made it back to Jackson just before the tornado out break.

At last report, JSU was still scheduled to play in Atlanta. The promoter said that we had already signed a two-year deal with a third year option. At the meetings, he said that A&T wanted to play us again but they wanted it earlier in the year.

On the MEAC page, it was reported that A&T was playing Grambling in Cincy.

NON- CONFERENCE

USM
Northwestern State
NCAT
TNState
UAPB

CONFERENCE

Southern
Grambling
Prairie View
Alcorn State
MS Valley
AAMU
Ala State

Our schedule is complete if the game in ATL comes through.

Not NCA&T

From the NCA&T folks here in Atlanta they don't want a rematch next year.
They have a bigger fan base in Cincy and feel like it will help the strength of their schedule if they play Gram.

PV, same lousy schedule. We do not get to open Reliant Stadium as expected.

I don't think that SU counts as a conference game this year.

Robber, the rotation is every two years. SU does not roll off until 2003.

This system started in 1999 that is why we had SU, TxSo and UAPB in 1999 and 2000.

Now we have SU, Gram, and PV and they have one more year.

I expect next year (2003-2004) to be UAPB, TxSo and either PV or Gram.

Sexy,

The last time NCAT went to Ohio (Cleveland or Cincy) they had less than what came to Atlanta. Also, did we not outnumber them in Atlanta?? Besides, they can still play both games because dropping us and playing Gram will still leave them with only 11 games. They don't really have any big games so it would not kill them to still play us both unless they want to play a 1-A.

Why are we playing Penut as a non-congerence game?

I don't know why Culberson did that. I am thinking that since they are close he did not mind making the return trip. I think that since they came to us it would have to be courtesy to do the same as a non-conference game.
