Jay Rob, perhaps I'm not fully understanding what you're saying, because I swear Avery tried to do that last night and it backfired on him when Diop got in foul trouble and Erick Dampier got ran off the floor!
Call it a terrible game plan if you will, but I don't consider it terrible when they played their REGULAR lineup during the season and experienced the same results! :look: Golden State has ALWAYS been a jump shooting team the entire season and didn't try to hide it last night. So what's your point by saying Dallas needs to play a zone more!

In the end, they'll still be playing into Golden States strength, which is having 4/5 people on the floor that can play all positions and shoot the ball. Trust me, of the 5 starters--4 of which are guard oriented--, SOMEBODY will be hot that night. They just have to find the hot hand early.
Didn't you read that GS lead the league in three pointers made and attempted? Didn't you also read that they lead the league in steals, 3rd in blocks, and 2nd in points scored? With all of that being said, do you really think Nellie cares if they play their big men and play a zone with them?  Watch what happens when Erick Dampier and Diop start next game and they try to pound the ball to Dirk in the paint all night...........steal after steal, after steal!   I guess you don't think Nellie can play a zone either! :lmao:
