It's not necessarily on this board but people confuse guys having NFL experience with celebrity hires who were legit stars but having little to no coaching experience

Deion, Vick and DeSean are celebrity hires

Shade, E Rob and Dishman are not with Shade and Dishman earning their stripes in the coaching ranks

I think the term "Celebrity Hire" needs to be defined. Doug Williams was not a celebrity hire. He coached through the ranks....

To me a Celebrity Hire is an individual who played in the NFL but never coached on any level.

Add Terrell Buckley to the non-celebrity hire list. Yes he played over a decade in the NFL and was a Super Bowl champion but was never a star. Plus he was coaching in the college ranks for over a decade before the XFL. If he wants an FBS HC job, he has a shot by winning at Valley

I don't know whether he'll work , but Buckley does have nearly 2 decades coaching experience. Not like Vick who is already dreaming of going back to a pwi despite never having coached a single practice at his new School. These celebrity coaches have continually shown open disrespect for HBCU'S .
