The thing you're missing is local economic impact. People will have to stay somewhere. They will have to buy gas somewhere and eat somewhere. There are also entertainment dollars to be spent. I'm not sure if that offsets the difference in yearly payout but it helps when negotiating with the local government to be able to point out that you you provide a local impact of ~5 mil for one game.
you saw that 20-23 million impact number too? Yet no one will explain why A&M and ASU only get the 1.5 million payout...

Do you all understand what economic impact means? You aint getting a cut of folks going to eat at a steakhouse, folks buying charcoal from walmart to grill or folks getting gas from gas stations. All of that is included in the economic impact... even the folks that don't even go to the game and just go to Birmingham for the parties, etc. You can't judge what you're supposed to get paid based off of that lol. And folks in this very thread say that Huntsville doesn't support AAMU like that, so why would you be concerned about them getting a third of it instead of Birmingham? Ion get it.
You do realize how that benefits anyone that might work and go to school at either AAMU and ASU right? Infusing a community to the tune of 100 mil over the course of 5 years should give you some leverage at the negotiation table. You absolutely get paid based on your worth and what you're able to negotiate based on that value.

Gene Hallman is only one person ..I know who he is cause he was apart of Bruno Event team...where on the site are the other board members/employees listed though? Is the ASC just Gene Hallman? Can the ASC tell us how much they make from "promoting our classic every year to the state of Alabama"?
I was told by someone involved in the negotiations both school loss $30k each covering travel expenses from the initial contract and the one recently signed. The initial contract also had escalators to push the money above $1.2m given increases in revenues,
Stadium capacity? Let’s be REAL… u know and I know that at least 20k getting in on comp tickets at MCC. Second our home game tickets are already higher than MCC tickets. You can get 25 dollar general admission tickets for MCC. Raise the ticket prices to 50 in Huntsville and you wont have to worry about stadium size. I have never paid for a MCC ticket in my life.
Wow…I’ve been attending the MCC for over 50 years and never got a free ticket. I never asked for one either because I believe in supporting our institutions.
In 4 years you have the opportunity to move your home game to Huntsville. I hope for AAMU sake that the internet committee math works for you. As long as ASU keeps the game in Birmingham, I am happy. I will go to the game every in Birmingham, I wont make the trip to Huntsville, but I am sure AAMU will be successful without my butt in the stands.
not about me asking… Birmingham just gives them away to ALOT of different employers throughout the city…. Also radio stations In Huntsville, Birmingham and Montgomery. The Black radio station here always has a “anybody who comes by the station can pick up free tickets”.. usually the week of Classic.
No all seats are not reserved.. but there are resesrved seats. Not sure about if a first come first serve… Im sure the game would be used to boost season tickets sales. We had our largest season ticket in history this past year where we eclipse the 5500 goal.
There are no "comp/free" tickets, those are included in the sponsorships - now what they do with their allotments is a different subject.

Except they won't be making that at home... nowhere close to it so it still doesn't make sense. Half the folks that go to Bham will not go to Montgomery or Huntsville. That was kinda the point. On top of that, what do you do in the years that you aren't the home team? lol. That's a guaranteed million dollar loss every other year because no other game is going to come close to being sold out other than homecoming.
