Alabama A &M University vs Mississippi Valley St 6:30

I got my good eye on yall mane. I am interested in seeing what year 2 looks like. Team looks motivated but I do worry about a lack of discipline being your downfall, similar to those Comegy coached JSU teams.
I agree about the discipline. We are a very young team. Hopefully, they will grow up over the summer. As far as on the field, if we can load up on some big boys in the trenches then we should be able to be more competitive. I think the coaches finally understand that D. Davis needs to be moving outside of the pocket to be effective.

Ite y’all break it up. MCC over with. Hornets its y’all turn right now , but famu on the way ready to keep that playoff resume in peak form in y’all house. And A&M and Maynor been looking at that pink scooter for at least a year and what it stands for. Lol both of y’all got big time matchups. A&M y’all had a good run it’s State turn to have their moment. I’m still mad A&M ain’t coming to Jackson at the vet… this payout better be good for both schools .. 😐

Currently in the Prime era all SWAC teams seem to be playing for second place. That scooter was classic; however, I agree this year's game should have been played in Jackson. I am unsure if promoters, recruiting, etc. was involved in that decision to move the game. However, I don't see Prime complaining about it. Therefore, it had to meet his approval. Because you know he will call you out if he didn't approve.

When it comes to our friends in Montgomery, Coach Robinson has done an exceptional job with that team. I really expect ASU to be in the mix for the championship in the future. The team is on the rise. Just like Stephen complains about Cowboy fans, I have the same feeling about certain ASU fans, act like you are use to winning. Again, Coach Robinson and the team, major props.

Now you bring up a great point about the payout. I have that same concerns with the Magic City Classic. Sometimes we get caught up with who won the game as opposed to looking at the numbers. The city of Birmingham grosses and estimated $23 million dollars (not including the surrounding cities). However, the previous payout was $400,000 for each team. Now AAMU played UAB in the same city and was paid $300,000. UAB did not require the band or team to come to the city early, no parades, banquets or pep rallies etc. However, with the classic all those acitives are in place. I can assure you Birmingham did not gross $23 million for that game. The Magic City Classic contract is up this year. We can not continue to be blind sided by which band won halftime or which team won the game. If each school is to progress financially, we must concentrate on the numbers.

Always on point when you reply. I always respect you for that. Alabama State is rising again. I think I said before season to keep an eye on our sister school in Montgomery. I believe Coach Robinson has momentum especially after the altercation with Coach Prime and his recent MCC win. He has talking points that will land ASU 4 and 5 star recruits this off-season and it won’t surprise me. My only thing I think that will bite ASU is the discipline portion. But we’ll see. On the basis of the financial part of the MCC, 400k actually surprises me for the complete gross of income the fans and festivities bring in to the city of Birmingham. Now that the contract is up , I don’t see why both schools shouldn’t ask for a $2-3 million dollar payout each. That amount is a 5 percent ask compared to the overall economic impact of the MCC week experience. Dog , my personal issue with classics is the price given sounds well until you factor in a unpredictable economy and the circumstances of our beloved HBCUs we don’t foresee from new administrations that come in. Yesterdays price is not todays price. Classic negotiations should really be done in increments of 2-4 years. 4 year deal but a clause in the contract that allows teams/schools to go back to the negotiation table after year 2 when both teams have been the home team. The problem is not every school has a Ashley Robinson or a Coach Prime influence to call out the system and action being taken to change it. We have some clowns sitting at the table who think 200k-400k respectively is a good deal over the span of five years before you factor in expenses to travel to the classic, critical infrastructure needs, and athletic needs that money games just won’t be enough to fix. Our brands are multimillion dollar entities, but we’re still hustling backwards because we don’t see the value in those foot steps that became HOF in the NFL for our schools, our bands that entertain a crowd like no other, and the fans that talk smack with the best of them while being black as value that’s different than what PWIs bring.
