Tomeka Reed's future at JSU

Mofo's program has declined into the abyss of obscurity and they got they asses over here bumping their gums about what's best for our coach. Mofo, if you know what's best, why don't you tell that to your dead ass program and get it to "Still I Rise" like Maya Angelo?

Yall remind me of those old Jailhouse Lawyers. Can tell others what to do and how they can get out, but yall ass is locked up too and can't help yourself.
🚪🚶🏿‍♂️
That's them 😆

WNBA DRAFT

Jackson State’s Ameshya Williams-Holliday wants to set the tone for HBCUs in the WNBA draft

The Lady Tigers’ top player once almost quit basketball for good, but has reemerged as a WNBA prospect

Jackson State senior center Ameshya Williams-Holliday has always known that she belongs in the WNBA. However, five years ago, the WNBA was the last thing on her mind. Then, the current Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Player of the Year was beginning her sophomore season as a 6-foot-2 forward at Mississippi State, and expected to be a key reserve behind stars Teaira McCowan and Victoria Vivians, now members of the WNBA’s Dallas Wings and Indiana Fever, respectively.

However, something didn’t quite feel right. After coming off a freshman season in which Mississippi State advanced to the 2017 NCAA women’s final before losing to coach Dawn Staley’s South Carolina Gamecocks, Williams-Holliday was burned out. She was sick of the expectations and no longer cared about playing a more prominent role for the Bulldogs or getting back to the NCAA title game. She was done with basketball. No more practices, no more layups, no more rebounds. No more coaches yelling in her ear. She no longer wanted to be a part of it.

After her team lost to South Carolina in the NCAA tournament final when she was a freshman at Mississippi State, Ameshya Williams-Holliday (right) almost quit basketball for good before transferring to Jackson State.

“I just left,” Williams-Holliday told Andscape. “I was packing my stuff. [My roommate] was crying, saying, ‘Don’t go! Don’t go!’ while I was just throwing my stuff in the car. I was hurrying up to get out of there. I got millions of texts from my coaches, from teammates, from my mom, everybody. I ignored everybody.”

There you have it folks
A couple of things on the Reed matter, when i saw Mulkey in her ear i said here we go again , that the same thing she did to the PV coach, then hired her as an asst. ( recruiting purposes only) this is what she said to Toyelle Wilson, the then PV coach, before Baylor killed them in the first round ncaa tourney game in 2013, this was reported by Ken Rashad "“As I told their coach before the game, if she hasn’t gotten a pay raise, she needs to find another job. She’s been to the tournament three straight years and that program had only been to the tournament two years prior to that. She’s done one heck of a job with her basketball program. Give those guys credit.”

I can understand if Coach Reed decides to leave, it should be for another head coaching not as an asst.
Now let us talk money, our HBCU school don't have the type of money to pay coaches like some of the PWI, Toyelle Wilson left Baylor and went to Michigan as an asst. her salary was $180,00, let that sink in, she is the new head women’s basketball coach SMU, can you say increase, we will see what happens as it relates to coach Reed.

FWIW: Maya Crump is 6'1 that my JY girl (Jack Yates High School)
What happened to the other university of Houston women basketball player that transferred to JSU (Daphine White)?

If coach Reed wants a challenge she can wait a year or maybe sooner, there will be a Big12 women’s coaching job opening up at UH soon and very soon.

UH will never hire directly from a HBCU and probably never has - you gotta go left to go right and move away from the HBCU for some years for them to even think about you. If you say you went or worked at Texas A&M they'll hire you immediately thinking you know more

If you've followed coach Reed any the past 4/5 years you'd know that she isn't taking an assistant position again. She wants to run her own ship and she's making really good money now contrary to what others may believe. Her new contract will be even better.

Daphne is patiently awaiting her turn. She wasn't eligible last year but has been on the bench supporting the team at every home game.

Coach Reed has already stated what her goal is. Once she beats a P5 and makes a run in the tourney, that is when she will leave. She's accomplished everything else and there wouldn't be anything else for her to prove at this level. And yes anybody not named that tsu guy that has seen Miya in person knows she's 6'1. Reed's squad, on paper this upcoming season, should be her best yet.

You act like schools don’t lie about players height. It happens all the time. If her height is not correct you need to take that up with her high school and the University of Houston. I just posted their information that said she was 5’10”. Something so minor shouldn’t hurt your feelings.

Thanks for the Reply about coach Reed, i'm very happy for Daphne, she got a raw deal at Houston.....

Most schools lie about players height lol… i still have no idea why but they do. Dariauna said in Offscript that she is 5”10 … she listed as 6”1 .

The fact that you posted a players height after all the other inaccurate data you've pumped into this thread shows your feelings were hurt. Who cares about what other schools have her listed as besides You 😆. You thought you had something 😆 🤣 😂 😹 You're all over the place.

Looking forward to seeing what she has to offer. I hear she has handles like a guard even at her height. We will finally have the depth downlow that we lacked after Ameshya.
But In the photo above, it looks like they took a couple inches from Ameysha or Luckett and shared them with Rogan and Cov!! 😂🤣

Damn I can’t wait till basketball season. My man you have been miss informed. She is a catch and shoot type of player. Y’all do realize this is her 4th bite at the apple in college?

With the new transfer rules, why didn’t Daphne play this year? Is she the only one on the picture who didn’t play for JSU?

Her position "Center" requires her to catch and shoot. That doesn't mean she doesn't have handles 🤦🏾‍♂️.

In regards to everything else..Go ask Daphne

Man that brother @Texas Southern Fan persistent as Putin not trying to look like a failure on the world stage. Keep trying brother. Along this whole conversation you managed to get @dezjaguar to defend jsu …. You out here bringing rivals together like the bloods and crips when they want to temporarily squash beef for a greater problem. My gawd.
I'm defending Coach Reed not j st.
