Gentlemen,

We go through this "what we gone do next year" on a consistent basis. All of this talk will be settled on October 9, 2021 in Normal, Alabama. It's obvious that the JSU fans are excited about their 2021 fall team and I can assure that AAMU will be well prepared this fall for any opponent. There is no secret that we need our defense to match our offense. I strongly think all aspects of the defense has been addressed, including a new defensive line coach. Please don't sleep on DAHILL's comments about our defense. Don't be shocked or surprised if we are in the top 2 in defense this fall. Plus, the kicking game is on point. Again, hopefully, we will win at least 2 - 3 games this year.

I'd definitely be shocked though 😆. Agreed, we are 60ish days from the season. Everybody is excited about the new additions to their team. Of course we brought in the most with 64 new guys (so far/still adding). Only kept our first string guys from the spring (38). Leggo

It's funny because this EASILY applies way more to your defense than it does ours. Our defensive issues were in the secondary, where we were extremely young and starting true freshmen in those positions. Bad open field tackling led to big plays (JSU scored 3-4 TDs off of missed open field tackling). Not to mention that was the team's 1st game back in 5 weeks due to COVID cancelations, so there was a lot of rust. As they played more games under their belts, our defense really started to stiffen up. We held SCSU to 7 points, Bama St. to 14 points, and UAPB to 21 offensive points. You can choose to go off of that one game in Jackson, but our defense was night and day compared to yours. Just facts.

AAMU's defense was ranked 4th best in the SWAC last year, and 2nd best in defensive efficiency.

Our starters were fine, but we'll take the incoming transfers to increase the competition for the 1st string and increase depth in the process. The defensive returnees will be 2-3 year veterans. Iron sharpens iron.

Dude I dont care what you say.. that defense was bad. We didnt even have a RB and still put up 43. Your lines were horrible. BEEN horrilble. Remember how we ran all over yall in 2019. We could have done the same in 2020. I dont care what yall ranked. Yall had a good offense to keep the defense off the field too. People say numbers dont lie but as a scientist, I can tell u thats a lie. Your defense does not pass the eye test. Im glad yall getting some help because when yall see a team with a defense, yall gonna be in trouble. Yall team reminded me of those Judge Hughes teams. Except we didnt go 0-6 vs the top teams in the conference.

None of that changes the fact that AAMU has to prove themselves. Yeah you won the Spring but if you didnt play SU, Alcorn and GSU the last 2 years, you would have been SWAC champs in 2018 and 2019 too. Yall got work to do.

Grambling would have got 50 pieced ..... Alcorn aint play nobody.... SU would have been a good game but hey they lost ..... so we had to beat the team that beat them.

TP,

Mighty JSU with all the transfers, top coaches, and facilites will be on display or sit on the high horse. Therefore, all of the attention during fall 2021 SWAC football will be on Mighty JSU and Coach Prime Time to prove themselves. This keeps AAMU in the background to win one game at a time. Mighty JSU will be the hunted. With high expectations come the thrill of victory or the agony of defeat. In the words of the former Alcorn Coach, Johnny Thomas, "he who sitteth on the high horse will take the most arrows".

We played those who decided to play or earned the right to play.

Background? lol nah Coach Maynor mouth has put y’all in the spotlight… the transfer of our former backup and it being highlighted has turned heads… the fact Alcorn called y’all out and their players said spring championship “asterisk” … y’all background days are over… you’re the defending SWAC champions … every week you’re getting everyone’s best and every loss people will question the validity of how good y’all really are. AAMU … the SWAC got their good eye on you.

TSProphet, please do your research prior to addressing AAMU. You must be new to the forum. We are small time, Annie Mae (we ate the cake), and country. As TP would say, "AAMU can only beat Mighty JSU during a down season". We might win 2-3 games. Oops! Almost forgot, our defense is terrible. Also, Coach Maynor would never talk smack and he is a Hulk Hogan fan. He is quiet as a church mouse. Please do your research in the future.

The Orange Blossom Classic will be epic. What is Mighty JSU gone do? After that game, you got Eddie George and the TSU Tigers in Memphis. What is Mighty JSU gone do? Now, you see how that spotlight is on Mighty JSU..

What the hell does this had to do with the 4th defense in the SWAC is not good? Seriously. Only the 1st 2 defenses in the SWAC is worthy of speaking of. 3-10 or 12 isn't isht. No matter which schools they are.
aint NO defense in the SWAC stopping our offense so it dont even matter....

I’m not new at all. Formally luvtheboom ..and as true as it is especially the small time part… y’all won the Swac Title… folks can hate but facts are facts… y’all have the biggest red target on y’all back this side of Mississippi… and JSU has always had expectations even prior to Coach Prime… when you’ve dominated a good portion of your football history less is ridiculed by peers and others… come on we know what time it is J state….

Aamu is the current champ. You will not be able to take a back seat lol. Yall will have a target too. As Maynor said teams will now watch more film and prepare a lot more for that game.

We are gonna kick arse. That's what we are gonna do. This Top 60 or 70 ranked class (depending on which site you use) will be on full display. The 2nd summer session is underway and then Fall camp follows. Nearly the entire team has been on the yard. We will be READY.

You have to admit that first game is going to be hell. Simmons already talking noise and working on trying to back it up. FAMU has a chip on their shoulder after the way everyone responded to their self-proclaimed championship and not playing in the Spring.

Sanders fueling the idea that an unproven team on the field against FAMU is going to come out the gate busting heads will take off or fizzle ( remember, JSU doesn't do moral victories)

Should be a great game.

Probably one of the toughest. The spring worked in our favor. Glad we get them out the gate honestly since they haven't played a live game in 2 years and will be breaking in a new QB and DC.

If we played famu later in the season I’d be concerned. They’re loaded once they get their football feet back.

Ok I have a question…what if it’s a transfer who has graduated but wanted to go to grad school at a better school or another school but wanted to get it paid for….sometimes it’s not just about sports.
